Wow!
Mullen did not recruit well at Florida - hence he was out. Saw some online chatter that Miss St (and Ole Miss) have to rely heavily on JUCO and now the transfer portal, because they lack the HS talent in thier backyards. Auburn is closer to Atlanta and could land some talent there, but if Mullen could not mine talent rich Florida as the head coach at UF, doubt he does much better at Auburn.FWIW:
The new Auburn AD, Cohen, got his first AD job at Mississippi State (thats who Auburn hired him from). The Head Football Coach at Mississippi State back then was Dan Mullen (who is currently not coaching, but spending a year being a talking head on TV). Cohen was hired as MSU's baseball coach the same year Mullen was hired to coach the football team.
Mullen left MSU a couple years after Cohen took over as AD, but they certainly would be familiar (and Mullen did very well at MSU)
It's apparently fake...yet another feint to distract from the real target...JamesIs this real?? First I’ve seen a coach at school A get fired on Sunday and they pick a new coach on Monday from school B. That’s currently coaching at your rival. Popcorn
O’Brien??? Really… the guy admitted he hated recruiting. Great x and o guy, but that is like 5% of the jobMullen did not recruit well at Florida - hence he was out. I still say - give Urbie a call. Before someone else does.
Wasn't politicking for Mullen, just pointing out that relationship that might play a role in the search (no inside info).Mullen did not recruit well at Florida - hence he was out. That's why I said I was joking about in an earlier post. I should have left that alone. I would have looked prescient. I assumed his goal was to return as an NFL coach in some capacity.O’Brien??? Really… the guy admitted he hated recruiting. Great x and o guy, but that is like 5% of the job
Uggg…they’re considering the wrong PSU coach!!![]()
