I seem to recall Dwight Anderson being called "Dwight Lightning" a few times. Maybe I'm just misremembering.

And does anyone remember the "Killer Bees"? I think it was the '83-84 team:
  • Bowie
  • Bennett
  • Beal
  • Blackmon
  • Bearup
  • (could even throw in Leroy Byrd)

Jay (the blonde bomber) Shidler
Tim (the bread man) Stephens
Was good friends with both at UK.
Loved it when we went to Tally Ho and Hoed down then went over to Memorial Coliseum and played ball all night.
Them were they days.

Dale (Barney) Barnstable, walk-on. forgot him goofy guy but smart as hell
Also, Lavon (the STICK) Williams

It wasn't umm. Out of respect to the poster who said it I'm not going to bust his onions he's not too bad just a dumb post, which we all do.

Y'all don't have a very good memory.

haha -- hadn't heard those later two... cool stuff

Marquis Estill always seemed like a guy that would carry a nickname
There was actually a song written about the seniors in 1978 called "Silk and Steel, King and Kong). Used to have a copy of it somewhere. I'll try to find it

Quick word about Monster Mash. It wasn't really a nickname. It was a Poster Title. I never heard anyone call him Monster Mash. Did you see that dunk by Monster Mash? No. The Monster Mash. "Monster Mash" Jamaal Mashburn. Jamaal "Monster Mash" Mashburn. None of them. It's just this idea of a thing around him. Everybody else here, people call him by that nickname or work it into his real name.

Do you guys know Bam got his nickname because of The Flintstones?

As always, Jon Scott has these really available at his awesome website
