The hate this caneintally has for Duke is something else. If anyone even dares give a Duke player a little credit and he is there to bash them.

"Duke fans ( and many players like Kennard) just look like duke fans and players should. You know like complete and utter douche bags."

Many at Rafters saying that Luke made the right choice going to Duke because Cal only takes defensive stoppers and Luke is "atrocious" on D. Several saying he would get mop up minutes only at UK. Lolllll. Them losing Kennard to Duke still stings very hard. I remember the meltdown at RR when Luke chose Duke over them, they were out of their minds over it, assumed he was UK bound for sure because he was supposedly some big UK fan growing up. Now it is "He wanted to go to UK but chose Duke because Duke plays no D and Cal demands it, he knows he wouldn't have played at UK!" Lollll.

Dr. Steat yet again stating that Giles shouldn't play. (or more like he HOPES he doesn't). Lol.

"Personally, I'm not worried about Giles. Jefferson is a better player right now and if they want to reduce Jefferson's minutes for Giles than many opponents will be in favor of that. Giles is a disaster waiting to happen with his weak knees. The kid should never play this season. We have to agree to disagree about Kenard. That kid scares more than Tatum."

Our old buddy gunslingerdick. Umm, no, pardner, we aren't scared of Justin freaking Jackson. But you better be "scared" of Jayson Tatum. Lol.

"I only watched for about 20 minutes last night and Tatum looked pretty good. But I'll have to see it several times - against better players - before I'm scared. A duke fan could have tuned in to the Ok St game and said the same about JJ."

slinger again. I don't get his logic here but OOOKKKAAAAYYYYY.....

"Giles is a monster, I'm sure. But if Giles is doing most of the damage, then that means Tatum probably isn't. So either way, I don't think we're outmanned.

And at this point, I'm starting to wonder about Giles' future. That's an unsettling situation for duke."

Soooo, Tatum won't be doing any damage if Giles is?? Lol.

slinger. This is lol worthy right here.

"Jefferson is an experienced senior and offers a lot of hustle and leadership. But I'll take Meeks or Hicks over him."

Tatum did some damage last night along with Jefferson and Kennard killing it. Unless he is saying doing damage on the same possession. Which is obvious.

slinger responding here.

dukephysics:
"Do you mean you really like Hicks and Meeks as people or do you mean you think they are both better players than Jefferson?"

slinger:
"Don't be a moron. Of course I mean the latter."

dukephysics:
"Is there any statistic that you believe by season's end will prove your assertion?"

"Maybe, maybe not. But stats don't tell the whole story. We run many guys in and out of the line up preventing them from accumulating big stats. But Hicks is a better athlete and every bit as skilled as Jefferson. He's a better FT shooter and handles the ball better. Meeks is more skilled as a shooter and far more skilled as a passer. And he's just as good of a rebounder. Up to this point in the season, Meeks is averaging the same number of rebounds in 8 less minutes per game. Hicks is averaging 2 less points than Jefferson in 5 less mpg."

I know. And I can see the advancements UNC has made from that game playing in such a hostile environment.

Every game unc plays is a hostile environment. Even at home. Why because of the officiating. Can you imagine playing every game season after season knowing that you have to deal with poor refs every game. OFC

This from some Mitch Warner idiot on the scout Inside Carolina board. Most people, even UK and Hole fans, have been raving about what a stud Tatum is and know he isn't even at 100% yet. But this guy says Jayson is "meh"??? Lollll. Mitch, you are frightened after what you saw from him last night and you know it. Clown.

"Jeter & Delaurier will transfer very soon. Bolden did not look too happy about playing a whopping 0 minutes in the second half last night. Jefferson and Matt Jones are what they always have been. Frank Jackson looks to be a good player - but how does he get minutes over Kennard, Allen, Tatum, and Jones? Tatum from what I saw last night (after hearing the hype for a year)? Meh. I think Miles Bridges, Josh Jackson, and Malik Monk are all better from what I have seen. Kennard will cool down - just like he did in the NCAAT last year.

This duke team reminds me a lot of the Jabari Parker duke squad. The X-factor is Giles.... if they dont get him back, then I really dont see what's so scary about this duke team."

This Mitch guy acting like a fool again as far as Tatum. He must be VERY worried about Jayson. Lol.

"Don't get me wrong.... dook is one of 5-6 teams def capable of winning it all. It's just after the Paul Pierce comparisons (lol) color me a little unimpressed with Tatum."

Jayson is his target for some reason...

Hey dirt. Remember that pic you had a few years ago of the UK/unc fans that had the two buddies that looked like they were extras from the movie Deliverance. That was classic. If you still have it this would be the perfect time to post it again. There's probably some posters that have never seen it. OFC

docholiday51 in a thread asking if Kentucky is obsessed with Duke. Lolll.

"They are a very good team and they are on a yearly basis but for them to be the media darlings year after year and get special treatment by the NCAAT every year(and yes they do)gets old and someone needs to point it out on a regular basis."

Yes, we get "special treatment" from the NCAA every year. We know, every NC was won because the committee gave Duke the easiest draw.....lol. So typical of UK and Hole fans.

Poor CaroWHINEa, they never get any calls!! Bunch of pouting babies over there.

"I watch Dook play and see what they get away with and then I watch Carolina and see what's called on them. It's absolutely amazing. Officials doing everything possible to keep Davidson in the game

The great gary's Davidson version of "Stats and Stuff" is hot off the presses, ladies and gentlemen! Notice that gary credited (or is it discredited) the Holes for 18 BLOWN ASSISTS! Surely an NCAA record, isn't it? Or is that just a gary and UNC related record seeing as though it is a stat made up in gary's genius head only and not a stat to anyone else in the universe....

"...and if there was ever any doubt whom our most vital player is on both ends of the floor, well, there shouldn't have been (hint: he was wearing a suit and a boot). Stats:
There's not much good, so I'll start with that:
- Team 27/34 FTs (79.4%). Ironically what had been an achilles heel probably won us this dadgummed game, truth be told.

- Justin was heat-checking and that was a good thing. He dominated as he should. Davidson has no one who can guard him and JJ stepped up. 27 and 8 including 7 3-balls.

- Luke Maye (10 pts, 6 Boards, 3 Steals) and Stilman White (6 pts, 6-6 FTs, 0 TOs and danged good defense). Also a sneaky-good floor game from BRob and hit his only 3 attempt.

The bad:
- shooting under 38% against a team we were physically superior to? Yikes.

- A lotta sloppy passing (more on that below) and 18 Blown Assists that weren't due to fouls

- Gibbs just did what he wanted --- at least until the last 2 minutes (more on that below). Granted he threw in some junk, but good grief. No way he should score 30 on us, nor should Aldridge score 22 --- granted he feasted on our "small" lineup, but still.

Stuff (and it's more about stuff this time):
- I wish I had one of those telestrators to draw concentric circles around video of our offense tonight compared to what it usually is. Spacing was generally terrible. Bad spacing accounted for a lot of the aforementioned sloppy passing, allowed Davidson to get their hands on too many balls and allowed them to help on what should have been open looks.

- Speaking of which, McKillup had them selling out on hard doubles on post entries (sometimes even anticipating the pass). Instead of making them pay we weren't able to find the open man.The reason? Again, mostly spacing.

- Kenny Williams. For the love of all that's holy, son, stop passing up open looks! For a shooter of your calibre, a catch-and-step-in 3 is basically a 60% shot. You passed up 5 of those tonight.

- Good move by Roy to mass sub about 5 and a half minutes in and down 10-3. Sparked by scrambling and some good defensive efforts by 7th, Stilman and Luke we went on a quick and vital 12-3 run to restore order.

- Also, a timely and long-overdue defensive adjustment, switching KW onto Gibbs for the last 2 minutes which shut down his spree. The fact that they were in striking distance that late is another matter.

- Finally, and I'm not gonna sugar-coat this part, our PG play was just not good at all. And it starts with spacing and floor balance. There are certain places you just don't take the ball unless you can do something with it and both Nate and 7th did that from the Point over and over. We probed too deep on the Secondary and allowed transition scores from Davidson on some misses as a result. I feel for 7th. He's a fish out of water there and taking some lumps. Nate, on the other hand, knows better. Hopefully he'll play more like a senior on Sunday. We will need him to play well if JB can't go.

Well, as many here opined, Davidson would not be a pushover --- they weren't. However, the game shouldn't have been in doubt with under 2 minutes to go --- it was. Still, we got the W. Learn from it and move forward..."

Bravo, gary...bravo!!! Yet another masterpiece!

Imagine how many blown assists it would be if Berry had played. And does he try to talk like Roy a bit too much with the "dagdums" etc.?

DSouthr says in the Davidson thread...
We see players missing practice because of exams, yes our players take their own exams.

Someone ought to show these clowns the statistics for Graduation Success Rate (GSR). The latest GSR data are based on student-athletes who entered college as freshmen in 2006-2009. GSR allows for the removal of those individuals who left in good academic standing.

UNCheat finished last overall (all sports) in the ACC; Duke was tied with Northwestern for #3 nationally across all FBS schools (Stanford and ND were 1% higher).

In men's basketball, UNCheat was tied for last in the ACC with Syracuse at a dreadful 50%; Duke was tied for #1 nationally at 100%.
