So, we shut down everything (schools, economy, social gatherings, sports, etc.) for 75-90 days (March-May), and we saw the cases decline but remain steady. Then we opened up with "social distancing", cases began to rise. Now we are requiring masks and they say THIS action will stop the rise in cases............
1. If true, then why didn't they just go straight to masks in March?
2. There's one steady statistic that I left out.....death/mortality rate CONTINUES to decline even with spike.

There is one "other" thing YOU left out in this excellent analysis. Shutting everything down again for that specified period of time GUARANTEES the economy will never recover in time for the re-election and then that's the perfect excuse to blame Trump and finally get rid of him.
There can be no doubt this is the main purpose behind the suggestion.
If the Democrats are dissatisfied with the economy, why don't they just produce for the voters a better plan to revive it and run on it? Why do they think the only way to win is to shut the economy down artificially, and then blame Trump for the poor results?
