Wasn't Jermaine Landrum very fast? It's been a long time, but seems like he wouldn't get caught from behind.

He was fast. Also just very good at getting in the right spot in returns.

My favorite line about that season where he set the record was from the Picker. “He sure gets a lot of opportunities to return kicks.” Or something like that.

A guy I remember as being very, very fast was Ashland Davis, a WR and kick returner during tthe Kragthorpe era
I recall him sticking the fork in Fresneck St. with about a 40-yarder from Paul Smith for our 1st Liberty Bowl win. Got plenty of separation on that TD pass. Which reminds me of Tarrion Adams(who also put the hurt on Fresno). Not particularly fast, but he would run around you or over you to get the job done. Will never forget him throwing for a TD, catching a TD &, of course, running for a TD...in the same game. I guess my all-time fav as a TU RB. TU Football: 1st,last,always!
