Fast offense

Doesn't seem like we run a "fast" offense compared to what Frost ran at UCF and Oregon. Where's the qwik screens, slants, etc that was UCFast? Seems they just non-chalantly go from one play to the next.

Watching Houston--Wazzu. Both those teams hustle from play to play and fly around.

Guess I was expecting Frost's offense to be more attacking with the qwik hitters than what we've seen. Thus setting up the big plays.

Maybe it's personnel? Trust?

Thoughts?

Yep. As of right now only 21pts in the first half.

Wait, that's more than our offense scored in 60 mins against USA.

The fact is they're flying around and hustling to the line for the next play. Just using them as an example of qwik offenses. Something I thought we were going to see from Nebraska.

The bells and whistles ain’t going to work if you don’t have the basics down. We need to adjust, gel and gain some experience. Get these guys playing well as a unit and things change a lot..

I agree we haven't seen a lot of hurry up from our offense and it's even more reason our defense shouldn't have the excuse that they're tired and giving up points. I honestly don't like hurry up unless you know the defense has the wrong personnel or are struggling with something. Each play is way too valuable to waste on hurry up all the time, especially when you have multiple holes on offense.

Martinez did exactly what Colorado said they wanted him to do before the game....stay in the pocket, make him make plays, and let their defense eat him alive....which is what they did in that second half. Of course that was compounded by the incredible lack of adjustments by Nebraska.

It is obvious that Frost has no faith in his offense or even in Adrian Martinez. The offensive line has been blamed for everything here except maybe global warming. But they were able to provide sufficient pass protection (yes, they sucked on run blocking but pass protection was there most of the time). Maybe the college world has caught up to the Chip Kelly offense. UCLA is struggling and looking much worse off than Nebraska.

Remind me again how many times Adrian was sacked? How many times did he find all his receivers covered, no one open? How many times did he have to tuck and run?

When you can't run the ball, especially in a spread O that tries to put pressure on LB's and the secondary with play action, you are going to be limited.

I guess that means the line was crap on pass protection and/or the Colorado defense was sooooo good there was no one open. There were numerous times when Martinez had 4 or more seconds and just sat there....didn't run...didn't pass.....got sacked.

Was the offensive line good...NO, they still have a huge problem with blocking for a run.....but a lot of the issues was the inability of Adrian to find the open receiver (JD was consistently open) and his hesitation to do anything. Sorry...but I am not buying that the Colorado defense was that good.

Hopefully today will be different.

Come talk to when Martinez is a junior and senior. This team is full of freshman and sophomores. That’s why we see the ups and downs. Pretty simple. And Colorado didn’t do a dam thing the first half. It’s like some said, it’s like we played it safe in the second half. Either way, Colorado game is past...let it the F_ck go already.

Colorado didn't sniff much around Martinez in the first half, and as we all saw, Nebraska was pounding cu. What I want to see is did these coaches figure out enough to avoid the second half crash on both sides of the ball.

Nebraska's going to find out tonight against team that is more than capable of beating them, and we'll see what the staff has learned.

Frost preaches fast- his past history playing fast has yielded much success- we have been playing slow and have not been having success.
