The 90s? The 90s were a dynasty. Iowa fans can only dream of such a run.

If you think the 90s are all Nebraska has...we top the country in wins, and winning percentage over the past 50 years. Iowa isn't even Top 50. The history and tradition between the schools isn't even a comparison.

Yep. We were 5th in the 70's, 1st in the 80's, 2nd in the 90's (Winning Percentage). Nice try Hawks.

I don't reside on either side of the fence, just a guy from the west coast (now Omaha) who likes to talk sports.

Just saying, it was a heck of a run in the 90's there!
If you live in Omaha, make a point to tour the stadium in Lincoln and check out the Huge TROPHY ROOMS Nebraska has.

Makes the picture you posted of Iowas trophy case look like a high school in comparison.

I've been to the stadium a few times, but that's about the extent of it. I'll have to go check out the rest sometime. Do they give public tours?

Ok, maybe I'll check that out then when I go to the new basketball arena.

Are the basketball history things located with football, or are those in two totally separate buildings?

Hmmm trophyless lets see ,Iowa State,Wisconsin,Minnesota,NEBRASKS,BIG WeST.So thanks but the trophy case is FULL.

That's the difference between Iowah and NU. Your trophies consist of wins over Iowa State and Minnesota in games that didn't matter. NU's trophy case consists of wins vs Miami, Florida etc. for National Championships.

Keep being obsessed with Big Brother. I find it hilarious.

Nebraska has like, 1 maybe 2 trophies...

Really sucks Nebraska has so many trophies they have to keep them on two separate floors. It's really a waste of space if you think about it. Think of all the money Iowa saves by keeping all their trophies in a little wall cabinet somewhere.
And don't get me started on that loooong hallway that displays all the individual awards and trophies won by players...yikes, it's a cleaning nightmare to be honest.

Ok cool, should be a good way to kill an afternoon this winter.

I'm going to an Iowa basketball game against Indiana in February, so I'll have to compare their new one with UNL's. I'll bring a fresh notepad!

Ok so here we go with the same old debate. (Not much of a debate with Nebraska's past) This thread is about recruiting and whether or not Farniok is going to Iowa or Nebraska. It's been stated a few times, why would anyone choose Iowa over Nebraska? I think it's been made pretty clear that trophy cases with trophies from when these kids were born, don't help too much. What will help is recent success of current coaching staffs of turning these guys into millionaires. That's why Iowa can out recruit Nebraska at the OL position.

Lets assume what you say is true, and Matt himself believes what you say, if that were the only criteria, wouldn't he have committed to Iowa a long time ago? Obviously there are many things he likes about Nebraska too. Plenty of millionaires in the NFL from many schools... Check out the rosters. Even Mike Riley. NU has a lot of draw still to recruits, why else would our class be ranked higher than yours?

How's that logic work for you in all the sub .500 seasons. "Well we finished 4-8, but hey we are going to put a couple of lineman in the NFL."

I come here to see if there's any news on Farniok, a recruit Iowa and NU are both finalists for, and the thread's become a nostalgia fest for things that happened before the kid was even born. Not totally unexpected, I suppose.

Can't wait for signing day. May the best team win on Farniok and Jackson.

Here you go, rosebowlx7. Heroes Trophy on the right. 2 story team trophy wall in the background. Individual trophies in another room. Swing by Iowa's brand new facility sometime.
