As of Friday there were only 22000 season tickets sold.interesting
we'll see. glad you're starting to read from my sheet of music now that it's a near certainty we will have football, it will start on time, and there will be fans in the stands.SEC will being doing the same like everyone else..
Anyone who deems themselves as a savant over inconsequential data and or internet postings is surely not. Your clairvoyance didn't see my post coming where I ask...we'll see. glad you're starting to read from my sheet of music now that it's a near certainty we will have football, it will start on time, and there will be fans in the stands.
if you want to correct me on a technicality (I have said for months all 3 of those above things would happen) that stadiums won't be 100% full (still wouldn't be surprised if this is the case in places), fair play.
I ask that you also applaud my savant-like ability to correctly predict monumental things such as paying players (on this board last year, was laughed at) and a relatively non-interrupted 2020 season (plenty of chicken littles posting reasons why there wouldn't be).
you're welcome, board. GBR.

Get lost.
Glad to give your ego a slight strokeha this made me chuckle
I really wanted to type a snarky response that the correct phrase is actually "idiot savant", but I like you so I didn't. Some of the most loyal fans will likely be very disappointed.So... what does NU intend to do? Some of us, ( continuing legacy), have had tickets since the 30s...
Works easy for teams that don't sell out. Pretty easy to do. Limit to 30000 with 22000 sold. Easily done.I realize AD's have to have multiple plans in place, but saying what's going to happen 3+ months in place doesn't make sense. What happens if by August this virus has died out and they can have a full stadium? Sell those tickets. Everyone knows that there is a chance that seating will be limited.
That $27 million is perMoos says having only 20,000 fan limit would end up costing Nebraska around 27 million..
They could start at 20,000 in September and expand in October or November if the Safety measures are loosened...
If I read the article correctly, the $27,000,000 was a per game loss due to ticket sales, concessions and clothing accessories.Moos says having only 20,000 fan limit would end up costing Nebraska around 27 million..

Is this when their sellout streak starts? As of Friday there were only 22000 season tickets sold.
Moos said some interesting things about even if we have games, the TV contracts might not pay out the full amounts either. Those are based on attendance as well, for what reason I can't remember he gave.
Given the recent comments about PSU and Mich, I wonder what the value of the B1G tv contracts will be if this year is OSU and "everyone else" essentially.
I can't imagine we are going to see spectacular payouts if two of the biggest programs in our conference aren't playing. But inshallah.
I am one who supports full reopening and folks taking their own risk for lack of a better phrase. I have personally seen positives both personally and professionally with the lockdown but if the fans are restricted from attending games I’m hoping a half empty stadium reverses our controversial ‘curse’ and these kids are relieved of the pressures of Husker football and just get back to playing good football. I say that knowing there are a lot of dependencies to that, coaching, talent, etc...
Look I'm a Husker fan, but hanging your hat on a meaningless sell out streak just to make me feel good isn't my bag.Is this when their sellout streak starts?

Yes /TV watching is up huge as is Netflix. Absolutely no reason to accept less of a payout! Show Us the money!!This seems backwards. Wouldn't fewer fans in stands mean more TV viewers?
I have an idea...now hear me out. How bout you open like normal and let people decide for themselves if they want to go? I know, crazy!!!!! Right???
I go by Sam's, Costco, Home Depot, Walmart...all open, all packed. #totalfarce
the picking and choosing is, at best, arbitrary. Not to mention that many of those limited 30k people will be in very close and comfortable proximity with another 30k people who will be tailgating before games. #limitingfansatthegamewilldoverylittletocombatthespreadsinceashittonofpeoplewillbegettingtogetherforagiganticpartyrightoutsidethestadium
liquor stores are essential, but AA meetings that exceed 10 people are outlawed.Who thought they would live to see the day you could go buy pot legally from a brick and mortar, but churches have to remain closed for "safety reasons"???? Not this cowboy. I feel like I'm living in the Twilight zone right now, for those of you old enough to remember that old black and white classic.
I've had the opinion that limited fan participation was the way to go, but I'm having second thoughts. If you limit fans you are going to piss off fans who are due hard fans but can't afford to increase donations to get to a level that I presume the athletic department will require to be considered to be eligible to attend a limited attendance game. Therefore I think you either fill the stands or don't let anyone in. With limited attendance fans will be pissed off and future "donations" could suffer. Just put everyone in the same boat and if you play to a full house, fans can make the choice and live with the consequences.So... what does NU intend to do? I understand season ticket holders should get first dibs, and the boosters who pay the most should also be at the top of the heap.Disagree whole heartedly...
Split the season tickets that way everyone is in the same boat..No way they’re not going to have any fans in the stands, take that notion out of your head..

but a season where no individual game tickets are sold bums me out. imagine all those burgeoning Husker fans out there who won't have a chance to see Memorial Stadium for the first time. we can all remember our first game, and it's things like that which propel us into life-long fanhood. not everyone can be a season ticket holder.
yea, for sure. but I wonder if the limited supply for what I assume will be the same demand will drive prices through the roof.I would assume fans could still buy tickets on secondary markets which would give them the chance to attend games.
Trying to follow the logic that letting 40K people hang out in a stadium is somehow more socially responsible than 80K. Half full stadiums aren't going to slow anything down or make anyone safer. Are they going to sanitize every crapper after every use? Wipe down every handle after every touch?? Make people tailgate 6' apart from each other? Prolly not. Soooooo, what does limiting the crowd to 40K accomplish again??
