Talk about pressure! With the idea that Dylan and Ace are probably one and done next year and the other highly rated players coming I just hope that they can gel quickly and not find themselves overwhelmed.
Guess the time of slowly bringing players along slowly and carefully is over. Certainly going to be interesting and you know the national press will be all over this squad.

Slow start next season would be embarrassing .Harper and Bailey want to play for a national championship. They will be taking most of the shots .The rest of the team need to rebound and play tough defense.Griffiths has a important role making open shots from the corners .

Did they win it all?
The original Fab Five lost in the NCAA Championship game in both their freshmen and sophomore years. As freshmen they were blown out by 20 by Duke, and as sophomores they lost by 6 to NC in the previously mentioned game where Webber called a timeout they didn't have in crunch time...

Michigan later had to forfeit games from those seasons and tournaments though, in addition to other penalties, due to a major scandal that included, among other things, Chris Webber taking hundreds of thousands of dollars from a booster who was involved in illegal gambling, money laundering, etc.

Things that are all legal now - and everyone else was doing.

So they played in the national championship game back to back in their freshman and sophomore years. Okay we will accept that outcome next year but under protest.

We should give them some time though... The original Fab Five finished their freshman regular season 20-8, and finished third in the Big Ten with a conference record of 11-7. Then they won five straight NCAA tournament games.

I do suspect the Big 10 was better back in 1991, 92 and 93 than it is now. Edey will be gone next year. There is no one in the Big 10 that is scary to go against.

Can you imagine the anguish on these boards when we lose in the finals next season?

Which referee will be the one who screws us on a last minute call, (and describe the call)?

Fab 5 also never won a big championship of any kind.

Whatever happens next season will be far better than watching 30 straight seasons without one NCAA bid.The excitement of having two five star recruits on the court is something fans will be talking about for decades.

Thankfully Ace, Dylan, Somerville, and Davis have played together so chemistry will only grow.

Especially when the NCAA has still not instituted a policy that any call can be reviewed in either the final minute or 2 minutes of a game!!!
