The 3s they are hitting are from deep and they're contested (most). This is a horrible 3pt shooting team and they are way way above their season average. We are also way below our season avg FG%. Bad recipe.
Go to Birthday for the tie? Why not set up a play for the only guy that deserved to get the ball tonight.
In this game you should give it to Etou every possession at the end. He is money from the line and will get fouled every time. Also where was our press since they had no point guard tonight?
Outside of poor shooting, rebounding, and defense we really played well except for play calling at the end.

I didn't hate the shot as much as where it was taken on the clock. He hit a couple to get us close there at the end.

I bet the "TU fans" that post on here that seem more happy to tell everyone else the team and coach stink and should be fired than seeing their team win are ecstatic right now.
As for me? I'm attempting to teach my 4 month old that there's more to life than TU basketball as I sip some bourbon.
He's a really frustrating player. He could be good, but he's all over the place some times.
Junior Etou........31 points and 12 rebounds. I have not seen a better game from a TU player in a long time. We all had to talk about the negatives, but this needs a little more mention.
It's easy for it to slip by with all the negatives but he did have himself a great game. He almost had a double double by end of the 1st half. I haven't been following TU basketball as many on here but I don't think I've ever seen that done by a TU player.
Andre Washington shoots a free throw with two TU players on either side and they don't even make any effort to block him out, he gets fouled and shoots two more freebies. Sorry,but that's extremely "Weak Sauce". Next trip down on defense Korita gives up baseline in man defense. Again that's basic FUNDAMENTAL defense taught by any middle school coach, you have to turn your man to the middle for help defense. Its all lack of effort.
Getting tired of the Haith 1st half minute of play. Each possession is important. I cringe when he's in. Shouldn't be that way on this level. Only hope is that he hits a 3. Couple possessions he was in tonight...offense had no flow one and he turned it over the other, leading to a fast break score. Obviously he didn't lose the game, but I'd rather see Battle/Atson for that 1 minute each game, or don't utilize that particular sub pattern just to get your son in the game.

True, Gold! , not sure what your problem is as I almost never mention you in a post except when I agree with you. I seem to get under your skin which just makes me smile. My post was certainly not out of line as I did not mention you or degrade you. Merely stated my opinion of certain posters on this board. There are some who don't want to hear alternate opinions and believe they have the only legitimate and factual opinion when sometimes they are proved to be wrong. There are many times you skirt that legal line of message board etiquette.

This is an opinion board. Alternative opinions are different than alternative facts., I agree with you about using alternative facts. Any of our opinions are not facts. There may be a player shooting over 40% from the three point line: that is a fact. However he may not be helping the team; that is an opinion.
I can't remember the last time I saw a line like that...closest maybe KJ? I know Ruffin had a 30/20 against TCU in Ft. Worth when Tubbs was there. TU scored like 120 that night.
Logical arguments have a basis in facts. Your opinions are often supported by alternative facts, or worse.
Meh, young team, bad opponent, three game home stand against best in conference coming up... I pretty much expected them to lay an egg.
Now we see if this team is as good as I think it is. I think we take two of the next 3.
I hope so. Our guys weren't getting position on defense and were doing crazy things on offense. I'm not opposed to so much Birt, because I think he is still better than most of the guys behind him, but we just didn't have much creativity in second half. I thought the offense looked better in first half, but we couldn't hit anything.
