It’s really a shame that teams like Oklahoma State, Texas Tech, Kansas State, Iowa State, TCU, etc have to pay the price for this. Texas is the one who set the rules in that conference, created the mess, and ran the whole damn thing into the ground. SEC membership has its privileges. When you are driving around Starkville and MSU you can see the impact on both the city and campus.

Adding the UT and OU brands to the mix would only make that membership even more valuable and its impact even greater.

I view it as a negative for State. Money wise, State is gonna be rolling in it more than they already are. Wins and losses? I think it’s gonna be really bad, because of NIL. I don’t think a lot of people realize how huge the impact is gonna be from that.

Yeah. At this point I want something to break the monotony. I feel like Leach has a better shot to beat Oklahoma and Texas than Bama. Oklahoma, Texas, A&M and LSU all have potential to beat each other up most years. I think we will see more upsets with the other West teams as well if this happens. I could see us having two losses in an ideal year and squeezing in on a tiebreaker.

If the SEC goes to 16 teams, you'd probably see divisions go away almost immediately. We'd also probably see a 9 game conference schedule, too.

You could also see a potential 4 team 4 way division. 4 permanent opponents and then rotate one team from the other three divisions. Winners of each division would then have a play off for our conference championship.

No. Nobody is leaving one of the viable power 5 conferences (much less the SEC) for the Big 12.

Looking back at the way everyone followed the SEC during Covid, I suspect if this happens, the SEC would totally pull away from the NCAA. If other conference follow great if not, they can go at it alone.

Maybe I'm in the minority but I think it would be awesome. We already are what we are in the pecking order and this would create a more challenging situation for every team in the league. But it freshens up the league big time in an era when things have been becoming more and more stale.

I love the idea of Oklahoma coming to Davis Wade for a big game in October or Texas coming to Dudy Noble for Super Bulldog Weekend.

A&M doesn’t need Texas at all. Zero U has Junior College level academics, they bring nothing from that side of the fence. This will be interesting to see.

I'm no defender of OU. I live in Ft Worth, so plenty of obnoxious OU fans around. That said, their academics are on par with most of the rest of the SECW and they out rank State.
