.. first time poster, long time reader. Some of you are out of your mind. Ash is doing a great job turning this program around. Is he making bad calls, you bet. Is Kill too conservative, you bet. But is our talent there? No way. And because the coaches don't flat out say it and lay blame on any one player, everyone goes nuts. Kudos to the coaches. That's what I call being a professional. If you're older than 35 and are expecting more from this staff and these kids, shame on you.

This group of young dudes will learn and become really good players down the road. It takes time. If you guys are reading this, WE GOT YOUR BACK.

Graduate from 96,which puts me in old man territory now of days. It will take a few years to beat the Ohio State's of the world. But it looks like the foundation is being set. Go RU!

The team and coaches looked completely lost today and unprepared. Awful effort, so many mistakes. They didn't look well coached at all. Ash deserves 4 years and they are better than last year. Basically we're back to 2015 levels, the year that got Flood fired. He's got a hell of a lot if work to do.

If we don't go bowling within the next two years we need to spend the money and invest in a big time coaching staff.

When RU wins too many fans go out into space. When RU loses they collapse into a black hole. As Francesa says that's the way fans are - its just worse in metro area..

Troll knows that a well-timed "positive" comment will generate real fans responding and being negative toward the program to CORRECT him. The net effect is one of long time fans and board participants slamming the program. Much more than a single negative comment from said troll could have done.

I thought five wins was likely. We would have won the EMU game with Gio,but did not expect such a poor result today.

Exactly. I was stunned at how many people figured we would win -- and win easily -- at Indiana. But people got way too high over what at most places would be considered minimal accomplishments, and then when the team throws in a clunker -- and there are no excuses for this kind of piss-poor showing, although a routine loss would have been no big deal -- everyone goes back the other way.

We're not very good. There is no evidence yet that Ash and Kill will get it done. But we have made strides this year. Zero league wins to three. 224-0 last year is 126-20 with one game left.

I am not going to crow about beating point spreads when point spreads -- for the 413th time -- are NOT predictions. The fact they have to be so high is basically a bribe to beg people to bet on Rutgers so the book doesn't have a huge liability with too much on one team. So covering a 31 or 32-points spread by losing by 29 does not impress me. What does impress me is beating teams we are not physically overmatched by, which we did not do last year, and not beating ourselves, which in some games we did a very good job of.

So while it's not accurate to say Ash is doing "a great job" turning the program around, we have made strides. And if Lewis or a newcomer can play QB, then we can take another step next year. Sadly, that remains a very big IF.

Sorry but an EMU win means nothing if we can't beat one of the big boys. This year was a let's see what we have a year. We have talent, need our QB to look down field, wr to get separation, OL to pass protect, CB to cover tighter, DL to get to the QB Quicker, and coaches to be more confident in making decisions. It should click next year, if not, then you start thinking about what's next.

Fellow ‘96 - welcome aboard and well said! Keep being positive. I am with you on this one! Looking for more improvement next year. I know Lewis will grow more into the role. And, we have more completion coming in at QB. Some good players at skill positions next year as well.
