EVOLVE, for goodness sake! (constructive)

Both our football and our basketball team want to do a certain thing.

Football- Run, Run and Run it again.
Basketball- Drive, Drive, Drive it some more.

But the result is, when we do pass (football) or shoot a 3 it feels and looks foreign. Because we do it so little we are not very effective.
in the last 3 years NBA/NFL and college have evolved, teams shoot from 3 or deep more than ever and in football they sling it all over the place because they have EVOLVED!

I am not saying we should just shoot 3s like Pitino's teams of early years or throw it like the air raid system, but gosh dang you gotta balance it out.

If I am playing Kentucky in football or Basketball I do the same thing. Pack it inside and make them beat you from over the top, because they refuse to do anything but who they want to be.

And part of this is having a SYSTEM in place that gets these guys OPEN (and have some shooters another rant for later)! Any 3s we do shoot is with a hand in our face, and any pass we do attempt is from 3rd and long and of course the coverage will be there.

I know this is a basketball forum, but both sides of our program currently look the same to me, we play decent defense and SOMETIMES our offense works.

I would love to actually see UK run an offense when it comes to basketball, every year it looks more and more like an AAU game when I watch. Everyone stands around and watches the ball, no off ball movement to get guys open, no back screens etc, yet we get burnt by the back screen at least 4 or 5 times a game if not more. Tired of this play ground style ball.
