50 years ago we were all supposed to be under water unless we "acted". What was the solution to keep us from drowning under the melting of our polar ice caps? Tax the United States! (only us though) Well guess what? The polar ice caps are still frozen!
Now, we're facing a massive "flood" in a
dozen years unless we "act". (no suggestions given though on how we keep from being drowned on a 'water planet')

*About
71 percent of the Earth's surface is water-covered, and the oceans hold about
96.5 percent of all Earth's water.
The only "fact" about these 'global warming' now "climate change" predictions is
none of them have been correct. EVER!
"from linked article"
in the wake of an
announcement by the United Nations’ Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change that a catastrophe is nigh—that that distant future of an Earth best by floods, droughts, wildfires and typhoons isn’t distant anymore, but as little as 12 years away. Unless we act dramatically and fast, the report says, by 2030 temperatures will have risen to 2.7º F (1.5º C) above the average of the pre-industrial era—the threshold that has long been cited as the tipping point for calamity. And while the announcement has been reported widely, the public reaction—again, as always—has been
meh.
