We got skull drug tonight. It was a Top 12 team on the road. It happens. We have not recruited well enough to win a game like this. Severe weaknesses at OL, WR, and CB. But we are a solid bowl team. Next year should be much better. And recruiting is really picking up. Especially in those areas we are weak. It should stay like that for a few years with Ole Miss' troubles. Calm down. If Mullen sticks around, the next decade should be special.

It's nights like this, riding home with a bunch of auburn fans listening to 17ing ****** pop rock where I can console myself with the promise of the next decade.

It is not about the fact that our team lost that bothers us. It is two straight games where OUR University was embarrassed on the field. UGA and AU are not "just" better than State. They are Light years ahead of us at the 9 year mark of our head coach.

If I hear "wait till next year" again in my lifetime it will be TOO soon. I heard that for 40+ years "before" Mullen. This team may win 8 games this year. They have 7 chances to win 5. And I guess that should be all Poor ol' MSU should expect for nearly $8 million in total salaries for Football.

Ah 17 it's that time of year again. Are we realists? Or are we accepting mediocrity? If we fire Mullen would it be impossible to replace him? Or is he holding us back?

This, and more, coming up on SPS

I know it's never OK to lose two games, but some fans that are overreacting are overlooking just how good these two opponents are. Auburn's defense allowed 14 points on the road to the defending national champions and one of the best teams in the country. Georgia just beat a team that recruits top-10 talent 41-0 on the road. All but a few teams in the country would go 0-2 in Athens and Auburn in back-to-back weeks.

But when do we no longer accept that it's a good year as long as we beat TSUN?

Let's worry about getting good enough to beat them every year first. We have not beat them this year, yet.

We have probably already won more games than the professional sports commentators said we would this year.

Still think we finish third in the West. Only problem is that second place is 39 points better than us. The rest of the division is atrocious.

We must recruit better and be more prepared. We did things tonight that Croom teams never even managed to do.

It’s inexcusable to have so little talent in our WR corps. It’s inexcusable for two of our top three offensive tackles to be freshmen. It’s inexcusable to have a veteran secondary that is so horribly incompetent.

I know we are playing better teams, but I expect us to at least look like we have somewhat of a clue what we are doing. We have looked like a 2002-2003 Jackie Sherrill team the last two weeks.

On the bright side, with these back to back humiliating losses. the stories about Mullen bolting to some other school will end early this season.

Why is it that just about every big game we play in our guys act like they are playing in the Spring game. Wait, I think they play with more enthusiasm in the Spring game. Ok, we may lose but at least give it 100% effort. As Mullen says go out there and dominate every play....well, maybe one out of every 10 plays.
