... whether he/she wants it or not. Out of curiosity, care to venture what Cal's legacy will look like?

Kentucky definitely underachieved in his tenure. Lost the all time wins lead. Had the worst UK basketball season in history. Suffered some of the worst defeats the program has ever known.

Won a lot of games. Brought the program back to prominence after 12 seasons without a FF. Etc;

His career has really run the gamut here.

Got talent one n done that went on to be All Star NBA players. A coach that took us to the second most Final 4s in our history only behind Rupp. Obviously the second best coach we had. But also the past 4 years left a bad mark. He made winning ok here and that's awful.

Cal is absolutely not the second best coach that we have had here. Rick Pitino was and he made the biggest mistake of his life by leaving too.

Cal matched that what Rick did from the 09-10-14 running up. Not counting the the 38-0 team buddy. Just alone Cal matched 10-14. Numbers don't lie

Man had more talent here than most schools have for decades and only got one championship. Biggest underachieve in modern college coaching history. 1 title in 13 years with everybody Kentucky has had, Bs. I was young but the clear sign he was a terrible coach was when he had a fricking college all star team in 2015 and blew it

He may honestly wind up with the most complicated legacy of all our coaches. He’s had some of the highest highs (4 Final Fours in his first 6 years) and lowest lows (9-16) in the entire history of our program all within a relatively compact 14 years. That’s not even getting into debates like whether or not that early winning came at the cost of building our program culture on an unstable foundation that we’re now reaping the hazards of. I could easily see him remaining a controversial figure well after he does step down.

Biggest underachieving college basketball coach in history.
He makes Dean Smith look like John Wooden!
Give me a break......

This is my first and only account. Editing this post because the site won't let me reply to anyone?? Who should he hire that would be better than Cal? Nate Oats?? Chris Beard???

Who has achieved more than Cal in this time period? Jay Wright? Roy Williams? Very few have had more success than Cal. We are a fickle fanbase by nature to our detriment.
Jay wright with CALs talent has 5 or 6 championships. Cal with the amount of talent he has had here is the biggest underachiever in college basketball. 61 nba picks or whatever the hell the number is and 1 title, that’s not good.

Fickle, we haven't been to the Final Four in 8 years, 2 years ago we had the worst season here since the Titanic sunk. Last year we lost the openng round game to a 15 seed. This year we have already lost 10 games for the 5th time in Cals tenure and appear on track to start the NCAA tourney as about a 10 seed. Let's not forget that we also have lost the alltime win record. You name a UK tradition and Cal has or is in the process of bestroyi g it. Having a problem with that is not what I would characterize as fickle. You sir are a hoot

I am as much of a "hoot" as that fish in your picture. Who would you hire that would have done a better job hotshot?

Who would you hire buddy? Answer the question?

We can play what if all night long. What if Jay Wright had Cal's talent? I know for a fact he wouldn't have 6 championships. NCAA tournaments are HARD to win. Especially now in the era of NIL and transfers. I want to0 know who could do a better job than Cal. Seen the recruiting class we have next year?

EDIT: Still no one can tell me who we could hire that would do a better job.

Classic, the good old have you seen the recruiting class next year. Brother the recruiting classes don’t mean **** because calipari can’t coach them. It’s been that way since 2017. And I know jay wright would do better with the talent cal had because he is 100 times the coach cal is. One championship in CCCs time here is sad and beyond understand achieving. He has now taken the program to apathy and mediocrity, which many like yourself are fine with because of he brings in McDonald’s all Americans. He could win with fricking fox monk and bam, or a college all star team or fricking John wall and Demarcus cousins. Nexts years class is nowhere near as good as people think, the same Bs will happen next year, is way past time for a change

It’s called a legacy for a reason it’s not just a few years you take the over body of work and Cal has underachieved BIG TIME! Pitino didn’t underachieve when he was here he came when the program was in shambles and left the program on the highest of high mountains! Cal came and had the program on a high and now how is Cal going to leave the program? I’ll give you one answer he’s breaking some of the wrong records toward the end of his legacy!
