It’s cool to me that Braun’s saying “why not us” at media day may overtake Barnett saying “take the purple to Pasadena” as the most prophetic statement in our football history. When he said it, I thought it was a bit corny but now it looks like a coach who believed in his players. We have a long road to go but a win would put us one step closer.

No. Beat Oregon. Then talk. Or then Iowa.

We havent beaten a team with a pulse. Let's stop this playoff talk
Eh, we look like a playoff team. Doesn't mean we'll beat Oregon and Iowa to be clear. But we should beat them both if we're a playoff team.

We're not the players; if they believe the hype, then that's premature. But the good thing with a coach like Braun is that he's so level headed and basically "egoless" as Mark Jackson describes him, it's hard to believe Braun will get caught up in hype. And Chip Kelly has been playing at this level for decades; he know what it's like at the top. He wants to win.

I have more confidence in this coaching staff from top to bottom than I've had in any staff we've had since Barnett. Who knows where that gets us, but we have great coaches and great players; we just have to see if they can get it done.

Path has never been laid out in front of Northwestern like it is now outside of the mid-90s. It's fair to point that out.

This reminds me of George Costanza:

bald men, with no jobs, and no money, who live with their parents, don't approach strange women.

Teams that give up 240 yards rushing to Rutgers, most of it in the space of a quarter, at home, who need 2 miracles to beat moribund MSU, and have 5 tough games left...you can do the rest.

Sure, Moore is put, Sayin is out, Iowa has issues, etc. And so do we. Our lines are as thin as someone on Ozempic, our DBs insist on injuries that last 8 weeks, etc.

I love this team and I think we will win 2-3 more games. Lou can write about whatever he wants, but I'd like to see us beat a team with a pulse before talking playoffs. We are as likely to go 6-6 as make the playoffs.

Just my natural Cat pessimism. Sorry if it offends

I hear your pain. I'm just going to let the rest of the season unfold. The biggest part of the story is still left to be told. I'll be watching and listening patiently- all the while trying to be as optimistic as humanely possible

I am as excited to think about this as anyone, but the reality is we have not beat a winning FBS team yet. Take care of business the next two game, then maybe I will actually believe it to my bones.
