Cool story. This could have been dropped in multiple threads. But you just need attention
I laughed the other day when the OWH claimed that the reason DONU didn't get players drafted was because the Preacher runs a "developmental program" and these yet to be drafted players are still being developed. I can't believe that anyone in Nebraska believes this. It's delusional and the OWH should be ashamed.

He’s not wrong. We are not a healthy program. Add in NIL and it’s all just weird and unpredictable
NU is one of 3 programs not to have a top 50 pick since like 2011. We should go back to a rushing based offense with some option similar to Navy and finally have an identity.
true.. ask about any college football coach what you need to do to be successful at Nebraska, and they all know the answer.. but when you actually pay one to come in, it seems like they forget what the heck they are doing.. Dude, you're at Nebraska.. yeah, ok, let's go run the ball.. it just floors me how someone could come into this place and think they should do anything different.
Let’s not forget that it was Ron Brown that secured EJ’s commitment. You know the guy who developed the last RB to have an appreciable NFL career. Of course MR wants to take credit while selling that Barthel is a great recruiter and developer.
I'd be fine with that or even what Wisconsin had in their 'Glory' years. Heck im fine with a spread out and then have a big ole hammerback slam into those lighter boxes. Anything is better than what we have been doing 2024 & 2025. At least it was a little fun when Emmet was running around everyone. Would have been more fun if we could play-action and force the safeties back.
If Rhule plans to develop a bunch of players to be drafted during his time here, he'd better hurry up.
The AD would need to force upon better assistant coaches for his staff. He would need to retain his OC because he’s the brains behind the offense. He’s merged Wing T series with various triple option concepts from wishbone/Flex-Bone.
True! ON the assistant coaches. And yeah i've enjoyed Navy's offense that incorporates a lot more deep passing which was always missing from the 2000's/2010s version.
If you do not have the talent coming in you will not have the drafted talent going out. Saban would not have won with most of the players at NU the past 10 years or so. Sadly to win today you have to also have the funds to get the top players along with the best coaches. College football is dying with the exception of about two dozen schools.
What's weird to me about that it is the OWH guys and other local media who hem and haw about replacing every starter with a portal transfer. It was a big deal to them when Nebraska didn't bring in a RB, and that still gets brought up by Sam McKewon. To them we are a developmental program but it's unwise to actually our developmental guys play.
They are still trying to figure out what will get clicks...
It is a business. They can't totally turn on Rhule just yet...
