the Bergen Record speculated that RU would have been helped a lot this year if Eugene had stayed..... this, in reviewing the game Gene had against SHU

which brings up the question, if he had skipped playing last year with us, and came back, which player would not be on our team now, due to space ..... probably either Mag or Reiber would not be, possibly because there was no space, or one of them deciding the opportunity to play was a lot less

still of the opinion that Gene would have played last year if he remained, he would not have had the patience to sit out, when he could play

That is an interesting question (impact of Gene having a scholarship this year instead of.... ?) One year of EO as he is playing if he stays healthy plus three years of a 2021 grad versus four years of either Mag or Reiber, if that would've been the trade... but I am happy with what we have.

Actually we only have 12 scholarship players so we would have had room for Eugene some guys would be getting less minutes. If Eugene sat out last year and if he fit right in with the team concept we just might have been one of the top teams in the country but who knows for certain.

I’m not a Carino fan but there is no question we’d be better with Eugene...and probably Top 10...ball stopper or not. He does the dirty work and would allow Harper to play even more on the perimeter. Harper is stronger than a normal 3 and Eugene is unique as a 4. They could even flip roles and create matchup nightmares. He also becomes an enforcer that every quality team needs.

He scored 18 points, but it took him 18 shots to get there against Eastern Washington. 4 turnovers.

Not sure what is holding us out of the top ten is 3 point shooting one more dead eye 3 point shooter and we are top ten; Eugen would certainly be a help especially with the depth issue

Do we need the update after every game? The shu game was interesting for obvious reasons but other than that..

Just feel like it needed to point out he's had two inefficient games to go along with two tremendous games.

Somebody on RU took a charge in one of the recent games and I couldn't recall seeing that happen since Eugene was on the team.

It was Oskar. He also took another charge in an earlier game but was called a block which was a bad call IMO. Its a good sign for his willingness to defend

FIG, all good points, but it also can't be a coincidence that Eugene left immediately after it was announced that Yeboah was coming onboard. I don't know whether he just got his panties in a bunch or if he was worried about possibly sharing a little bit of playing time, but the way he bailed on the program was very disappointing. He looks great this year, and I appreciate that he was a warrior for RU, but I won't ever forgive him for abandoning his team...not that he's losing any sleep over what I think 😀
Ahhh yes, the old - EO is the 8th best player on the roster argument.

3-13 tonight (8-8 at the line though) as Oregon barely beat a terrible Washington team.
