Does W and L still support its team so well? I remember it just like it was yesterday when my Riverheads team traveled down to King William to play W and L in a state quarter-final game in 2004. We brought a decent enough crowd, considering the distance, and we did the best we could to make our share of racket, but their crowd that night was the largest and loudest I have ever heard at a high school game. To this day, that remains the best high school game I have ever seen in my life.
The Madison crowds a few years later, when they were on their state title march, "might" have topped W and L's, but it would be a close fight.
