Cool. A pothead gangster honoring a rapist who salvaged his marriage by buying a 4 million dollar ring. At least Snoop never hid who he was.

2020 is on a roll.

Rapist? Come on now. She was just a *****, not a victim.

Wrong. The medical evidence from that case ain't something that can be explained away with the "she was just a *****" nonsense. For example:

During the preliminary hearing, Det. Winters testified that the accuser had been examined the day after the alleged assault by Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners (SANE) at the Valley View Hospital in Glenwood Springs, Colorado.

“[The nurse] stated that there were several lacerations to the victim’s posterior fourchette or vaginal area, and two of those lacerations were approximately one centimeter in length,” testified Det. Winters. “And there were many, I believe, 2 millimeter lacerations. Too many to count… [The nurse] stated that the injuries were consistent with penetrating genital trauma. That it’s not consistent with consensual sex.”

Det. Winters further stated that the nurse told him the vaginal injuries had most likely occurred within “24 hours,” and that the accuser had “bruises on her left jaw line.” Also, that examiners had found “blood excretions” on Bryant’s T-shirt “to about the waistline.” The blood, testified Det. Winters, had “the same DNA profile as the victim in this case.”

He did commit rape, and he got away with it because he was an extraordinarily rich famous guy who was able to buy his way out of it. The world has now conveniently chosen to forget that detail, because we love the rest of the Kobe story so much that we've decided that's best ignored. But it DID happen.

I would never acted like a fan of Kobe, but would have never wanted to see the dude and his family die in a crash. I wasn't a fan of the player Kobe on the court, but admit the dude goes down as one of the best to ever play the game at shooting guard. Kobe obviously wasn't better than MJ, but since it would seem impossible to find a better shooting guard than MJ, I guess it shouldn't be such a gripe about Kobe. I would also say LeBron is easily the better player while compared to Kobe. The thing I really hated the most about Kobe is likely the thing that made him the player he was on the court and that was huge ego and the fact he often times acted untouchable with the Lakers. I never like to hear about the players I hate the most go out the way Kobe and his daughter had to with the helicopter crash and burning in such a way.

Damn sounds like he was guilty to me. Providing that, in which you stated, is true. I didn’t follow his case closely at the time. Not trying to argue with anyone here. Just stating my opinion.

“It was revealed that she wore underpants containing another man's ***** and pubic hair to her rape exam the day after the alleged incident. Detective Doug Winters stated that the yellow underwear she wore to her rape exam contained sperm from another man, along with Caucasian pubic hair. The examination found evidence of vaginal trauma, which Bryant's defense team claimed was consistent with having sex with multiple partners in two days.”

While it’s certainly possible she was a victim. It always sounded more like a chick looking for a payday after having sex with a celebrity.

I’m trying to imagine a scenario under which I’d watch the Espys that doesn’t include a gun pointed at me or a member of my family.

Yet here you are in a topic about the ESPYs, because you think people need to know your opinion.

This message board is a f*ckin pigsty, and this thread is the perfect example. I'm not sure how mods allow this **** to continue. A bunch of people with a maturity level of a junior high kid.

Why does not watching the ESPYs mean we can’t find joy, have sympathy, and are SOBs? Because in June of 2020 you have to do that? Or you just like that horse and wanna sit higher on it?
Has nothing to do with watching the ESPY's. Is that really what you thought I was implying? Jesus

You sound a little unstable. I'm going to put you on ignore with the other unhinged people on this board. But before I do, I'd recommend you see someone about your anger issues.

Like a lot of court cases, if you focused only on the arguments of one side then that side would seem true.

I followed the case pretty closely at the time. My opinion is that he would have been found not guilty based on all of the evidence available. Still would have been a very ugly trial, and an even bigger stain on his legacy than it became.

I suspect you are only like a 1st or 2nd year law student, so here's some of what you will be learning in the years ahead:

The defense actually gets to make it's case, as well.

All that was ever proven is that these two people had sex with each other, and they gave different accounts about what happened.

Tuned in for 2 minutes last night. Still hate myself for it.

EDIT for my defense: only because I am on a work trip (traveling in these dire, horrendous times? OMG, RIGHT??!!) and was stuck in hotel room and accidentally changed the channel to ESPN. Should have known better. But, still....

She wouldn't testify against him in criminal court.

She got F'd and took money for it. That's the definition of a *****.

Kobe was a complete scumbag and likely yes a rapist. So is lebron...total dirtbag. Don't understand the idol worship for either. Kobe paid the piper for his misdeeds. That woman had injuries consistent with being raped it's pretty obvious to me she was bullied into shutting her mouth sorry

My thing is that consensual sex doesn’t include blood and lacerations of someone’s ******. One would have to be into some very kinky sex for that to be a possibility. Again, JMO.

Ratings for last weekend’s woke ESPY Awards crashed to the lowest numbers the show has ever recorded. The ESPYs only earned 482,000 viewers over both ESPN and ESPN2 combined, making it the smallest audience the show has ever reached dating back to its inaugural awards in 1993. The previous low occurred in 2011 when 1.98 million viewers tuned in, according to Sports Media Watch.

Just cause you’re an athlete doesn’t mean your opinion is more important. Fine balance between using a platform and just ramming **** down people’s throat. I’m glad their ratings sucked. ESPN blows and so do the ESPYs.

As a kid, I can remember the ESPYS being pretty cool. They played the candidate plays and performances during SportsCenter, which showed highlights at the time, and fans voted. I assume it is mostly people speaking their political opinions now.
