Despite having the most "what ifs", Nebraska has better odds than Wisconsin, Auburn, Miami, and Texas A&M on the list.

I do wonder who has been betting so heavily on the Huskers to sway the odds?

NU is not a title contender. Too many holes in the depth chart still. Too much to prove in the trenches on both sides. Even Frost still refers to the team as "incomplete."

But you gotta love the free press. ESPN is going out of its way to work NU into the title conversation while acknowledging that we're not there yet. But they want us to be. NU is a hot topic/brand again. And that has everything to do with the allure of Frost.

The honeymoon won't last forever though. Time to go back to a bowl game at minimum.

I thought the national media hated Nebraska?

To be fair, the national media didn't put this list together. They are just doing an article on the teams with the best odds, as determined by Vegas. In the article, the guy slams Nebraska pretty hard. "One of these is not like the others". And while I agree, we are not title contenders, we aren't far behind some of the other teams on that list that didn't get laughed at by the writer. Most agree we could easily be better than Wisconsin this year, but Wisconsin is taken seriously there, while Nebraska is scoffed at.

Ha!
If this had been bagging on the Huskers it would be followed with...

1. ESPN? Does anyone even watch that anymore?
2. College Gameday? I have not watched that since (enter some insane date), I like the Big Ten one better

I would be very happy if we won the west and were in the big ten championship game to the very end. Plus beating Iowa is a must!

Agree, I am not expecting BIG10 championship or NC. I am willing to be patient to get this thing done right. However we are in year 2 now and should starting seeing of noticeable progress. With our schedule we should be able to at min get to 7 or 8 wins. We should be able to compete and be in every game. We should be able to start beating middle of the pack teams like Iowa, NW, Purdue, MN fairly consistently.

The list of "ifs" after Nebraska cracked me up. Kind of the same thing as "if my Aunt had balls she'd be my Uncle." I'm surprised someone hasn't cued up the Lloyd Christmas "So you're saying there's a chance?" GIF yet!

I’m guessing it’s our schedule, Frost being a proven Head Coach on making huge progress with a team from year one to year two and we have Adrian Martinez. When you have a legit, dangerous QB like Adrian Martinez, anything could happen. Remember how QBs like Johnny Manzeil, Vince Young, Tim Tebow, Marcus Mariota and so on did...QBs like this can turn a game in a hurry.
