Sucks for Florida but its a win-win for Billy D.IF it doesn't work out within 3-4 years,he can still return to the college game and have no problem finding a job.

A day or two? They obviously didn't research his last attempt at leaving Florida. Should have made him put it in writing before walking out the door.

So does UF go after Archie Miller? Who else would be on their short list?

Lots of talk about Miller being the first option but I'd make a pitch to Marshall from Wichita State.Of course they could decide to try Little Rick up at Minny but who knows.

I actually think Miller is a better fit than Marshall, but either way would be good coaches. I hope they get someone decent, who will keep them in the hunt for tourney births, but of course not on our level

OKC to good a job to pass up, it's not the Orlando Magic lol

To be fair the Magic had Dwight Howard at that time and had some good years, including a trip to the NBA finals in 2009. Would Donovan have got them there? Maybe...doubtful, but it was not a terrible job.

I don't think if donovon did poorly in the NBA, uk would look his way at all unless there were no other decent options

No! They should shackle him and lock him up in a small room until everything is signed, sealed, and delivered.

Hey it could easily happen.
Boy, it seems like someone at Florida really ticked Donovan off. Or else he just got sick of recruiting. Either way, this change of heart seemed to come out of nowhere. We are talking about a guy who's been a college head coach for 20 years, and turned down NBA jobs before. This time, he seemed to pursue the option as aggressively as possible.

You want to talk about problems, look at Florida. I know they don't really have any fans who care, but one year removed from an undefeated SEC season, #1 in the country, making the FF, they finish under .500, lose their coach, and have a depleted roster. It's like Donovan was never even there. They're right back where they were before he started coaching there.

Have any of you ever been to Oklahoma City? I hope he is being paid well because that place is the hind end of the world.

Bobby Hurley would be a solid choice.
That "be" in your sentence needs changed to "have been". Hurley made his jump to a power conference, taking the Arizona State job. No chance they just let him go somewhere slightly shinier a few weeks after he arrives.

Maybe Pelphry will be interim coach this season so they can see how it shakes out with him and if it doesn't open it up after next season since the coaching carousel has stopped this year.

Donovan built a really good program down there. I'm curious to see if Foley steps up and tries to keep the Gators nationally relevant or if they go the cheap/retread route and sink to the middle of the pack.

Talks on ESPN today was saying that Donoavn's salary at Florida just went to $4mil this year and at OKC were going to offer $6mil a year plus you have 2 of the best players in Durant & Westbrook!
