Looking at the tracker there some signings but not a lot .

Point being perhaps it is still early in that side of the process. A sign of inactivity by RU not a cause for concern at this point?

More than a 1/3 of them have signed and that’s the highest profile players none of which Rutgers will likely be in the running for

If that small sample size is even close to accurate as the talent trickles down Rutgers doesn’t have much to show for their increased budget if 25-33% of the pool is already spoken for

Optimist says the guys were targeting have not signed elsewhere yet but the names that have popped up for public knowledge are not inspiring

the next couple signings will be telling

Kind of like when Denis would check into our games, if we start hearing random Euro names requiring witch hunt for stats, that means we’ve called off the dogs.

I can't speak for ESPN, but this bad boy has been plenty of signings.

17% "committed" doesn't seem like a lot; or am I not reading this correctly and there are many more who have signed already.

Above states one third - 17 percent sounds realistic.

Appears agents are pushing the market to a feeding frenzy.

Patience weedhoppers!

Wow, that's startling. Over 80% do not find a new home? Do these players go back to where they came from? That's gonna' leave a mark.

I feel like at Maryland, the only program I watch closely, I've never seen a player who didn't find a new team...

DJ Wagner transfers from Arkansas to Maryland. He was a high school all american from Camden.
He was coming off the bench at Arkansas. Maybe he'll get a chance to start with the Turtles.
Not sure if his high school and Kentucky and Razorback teammate Billy Richmond entered the portal.

Last year, about 45% of college basketball players that entered the transfer portal did not join an NCAA team (any division). So $0.00 NIL and no scholarship. Where do they go? They go home. The introduction of the transfer portal has had a negative effect for many non-superstar players. With a 10% increase to about 3,000 ballers expect in this year's portal, I think the percentage that don't find a home will increase. The predictable result is fewer basketball players graduating with a degree as a result of replacing student athletes with mercenaries. I was for portal at first, but it has not been good for fans or many, many players.

Follow what you are saying; but does a player like Fall or Badalau want to remain on the team to get their degree here, knowing they will (pretty much) sit on the bench. Or do they try and compete at another school. What does happen when the HC says we don't see you having a role on the team. So some of it is certainly on the player or their agents talking them into leaving; but maybe it's also on the coach looking to improve their roster. Don't know enough about what's going on internally. But the more & more that players don't have a home, might make this a self-correcting situation.
