that people do not like Cam Newton. Holy ****. That's all they've talked about all week.

Apparently not liking him means you're a racist...

On that note, Bomani Jones is and dubmass.

I've got news for them. People don't hate Cam Newton because he's black. They hate him because he's a douchebag.

You still watch ESPN, so the joke is on you. Its a sociologist hell hole on that station, like most of the media.

Roots featuring Cammy Cam. You are right, they are working hard right now. But it is really easy to sway people these days. They will dictate the thoughts of many.

I can't stand him and never will.

I noticed this too. Flipped to ESPN a couple days ago and they were doing this big feature on black QBs in the Super Bowl as if it is big news these days.

Someone might want to inform ESPN that Russell Wilson and Kaepernick are only half black. Does that count?

The only ones who like him live in Charlotte, and maybe a few Auburn fans. He's pretty despicable ... certainly not anywhere near the character of Dak Prescott.

To be fair,

I only listen to Lebatard on the radio, during work.

Unfortunately, he goes into his liberal rants sometimes.

It's not a FEW Auburn fans. It's every single Auburn fan walking. My question is this: DeMarcus Ware grew up here, played at Auburn High School and probably only went to Troy because Auburn didn't want him. He's been active in the community since he got drafted. Where's the love for him?

It has pretty damn unbearable to listen to. At what point can we stop giving a **** about the black quarterback? People liked Mike Vick before he killed dogs. People seem to like Donovan McNabb, Randall Cunningham, Russell Wilson, etc. We apparently aren't allowed to dislike Newton for his obnoxious, showboating behavior or for his petulant child act when he loses. Nope, it's because he's black and we're all racists.

I'm not saying racism doesn't exist, it does. I know racists. But for the larger part, I think it exists because they, being the media and to an extent black people themselves, perpetuate it.

Probably because he's not a QB, and furthermore a QB who was instrumental in Auburn winning a national title. And defensive players usually don't get the recognition that offensive ones do.

Leave it to ESPN to 17 up what would be a good Super Bowl matchup by injecting a ******** narrative into the discussion.

Its like having a hot date who farts a lot. Just can't enjoy it.

Bomani Jones is TURRRRRRRRRRIBLE. He acts like he's some hardened thug. He likes to talk a big game and tries to hard to sound "hip hop". Funny thing is that he's like 125 pounds soaking wet. No way he ever played any contact sport. Yet, he talks like he knows everything about football. Hell, I bet he's never been in a fist fight before...

oh, and he will be the first to pull the race card...

Agree that it's a ******** narrative. The fact that one of the Super Bowl QB's is black hasn't been something anyone would have even noticed for the last 20 years. It's not even close to being a story.

It does if you are running for President.

This racist line is so played out. People don't like Cam Newton because he acts like an arrogant entitled prick every time he is on the football field.

Also, until this year he has been an average NFL QB. He will slip back into mediocrity soon enough.

I would love to see him flame out like Vince Young did.
That being said he is likely to win a SB and the Mvp of it. Which means we will all get plenty more of that smug ***.

Sir Charles` take on ESPN`s coverage

In an interview with Fox Sports, basketball legend Charles Barkley said that there was a “racial component” to dislike for Carolina Panthers QB Cam Newton, saying that ESPN in particular was creating a “black vs. white” narrative. “I hate bringing up the race card because there’s more important race stuff, but race does have something to do with it,” Barkley said.
The NBA hall of famer did say the hate towards Newton and the Panthers has as much to do with the fact that they flaunt their wins. “There is a racial component, but I hate talking about that because we as black people, we got way more important things were race is factor than something silly like sports.”

In particular, Barkley called out the ESPN for their “crap” fermenting a “white vs. black, good vs. evil” narrative surrounding the Super Bowl match-up against white Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning.
“It really annoys the hell out of me. We really just can’t appreciate the greatness of Peyton. And clearly, Cam is on the track to become one of the greatest players ever. But you can already see them framing the narrative: black vs. white, good vs. evil,” he repeated.
Barkley blamed the two week gap between games for the racial focus. “A lot of these fools on ESPN gone regular shows, and the best way to make talk radio good is to make it racial,” he complained.

You are probably right. He is going to be around. He just won't keep this level of play up. Soon enough he will go back to posing like superman while his team is 7-8 in week 16

Sir Charles called out Dan La Batard for "race-baiting" with some of his comments about Cam Newton. Doug Williams, Steve Air McNair, Donavan McNabb, and Russell Wilson were all African American QBs who played in the Super Bowl and were generally well liked---the folks dislike of Newton is NOT about his race, it is about his over celebration bordering on unsportsmanlike conduct, just like the "Money Sign" gestures from Johnny "Sign My Football" Manziel make folks dislike him and his arrogant white arse.

Just listened to it. Charles is right. The liberal media wants to showcase racism under the guise of "tackling tough social issues". In reality they are only after 2 things. 1) baiting out the lunatics 2) it's low hanging fruit for ratings.
