Good article about how old school ILBs are becoming extinct
It's still very rare to find a fast, pass-rushing OLB that won't get completely abused in the run game. When you do have one that can hold up against the run, you're golden, but we've had a hell of a time even finding one that can even pass rush.

It was sad to witness Paddy Fisher to undrafted. It's crazy to think that Urlacher would likely go undrafted nowadays too.

Yes, Brian Urlacher, the super old school ILB who..

..played safety (among several other non-ILB positions) in college en route to literally starting the trend of drafting uber-athletic freaks and turning them into ILBs wouldn’t get drafted today.

Sad, indeed. Lol.

Guy would be a first rounder.

Sure, her was great at coverage. But was pass rushing really his forte? Not as I remember it, but I could be wrong.
