I go to ESPN for scores and to look at standings, so I see links to their articles. I’ll read a couple if anything looks interesting.

The quality of their articles has never been great, but it’s been fine and usually clear and informative. Over the last few weeks, their articles have become unreadable for me. It is pure AI junk. It feels like I asked GPT to write an article about the subject. They’re convoluted, confusing, and use a bunch of words without actually saying anything. I don’t know if others feel the same as I do, but whenever I see something that was obviously AI generated, I just assume it’ll say nothing useful and quit reading

ESPN is like Playboy was. Nobody’s there for the articles.

I basically only visit for scores at this point if im not near a TV. At one time I would watch highlights on their app but they started putting 30 second ads on a 12 second highlight so that ended quickly. Their fantasy football app is trash too.

Company sucks but its owned by Disney so what do you expect.

I think the bigger issue isn't AI itself—it's bad writing. AI can be a useful tool when it's used to improve grammar, summarize information, or help organize ideas. But when it's used to generate entire articles without thoughtful editing or original reporting, the result is exactly what you're describing: lots of words that say very little.
The best journalism has always been about insight, context, and firsthand reporting. If an article could have been written by anyone (or anything) without actually watching the game, talking to sources, or adding meaningful analysis, then it probably isn't worth reading.
Unfortunately, many outlets seem to be prioritizing speed and content volume over quality, and readers are noticing.
(ChatGpt response to your post 😂). But I do completely agree with you Kissinger!

My issue is the content that it serves up to me. I'm logged in with favorites picked (teams and leagues). Yet it still pushes WNBA, soccer, and NBA to the top of the feed. MLB, while I have the Braves and MLB marked as a favorite, is 9 swipes down. Trying to find SEC baseball scores...forget it. Random women soccer scores...at the top. UFC results, which I have favorited, are buried behind 12 human interest stories that I give no **** about.

This is accurate.
