Set up as best team ever. The next article might be that 2001 Virginia tech is second best team ever given how they played them

I've felt that way since I saw that season and the NFL talent that got drafted off that team. I suppose you guys think a 1970's Huskers team deserves the top nod?

Assuming best team ever would not be up 2 and other team with multiple losses have the ball with 5 mins left and chance to win. Usually they dominate. Not sure who that would be but thoughts are that best team ever had lit every team away by 4th qtr. given they are the best ever, which is a pretty high bar

1971 team as well as 1995 team. Don't like it? Then too bad. One thing you WON'T see is ANY Gopher team listed in a top 25 all time list.

95 Nebraska beat 4 top ten teams by an average of close to 30 points or something like that… these 4 teams finished the season in the top ten by the way. Destroyed number 2 by 38 points in the bowl game. Averaged over 400 yards rushing per game on the season.

If any team deserves to unseat 95 Nebraska (other than 1971 Nebraska, who beat the 2, 3 and 4 teams), it would be LSU under Joe Burrow’s senior season.

95 huskers. Dominated every game. Since that time id go with 2019 LSU. Their d had flaws, but their offense was as good as it gets. Dominated Alabama in Alabama. Dominated oklahoma and Clemson in the college football playoff

That 95 squad of ours woulda smoked that 01 Miami squad as they played a lackluster schedule and only won the game against VT in the last minute of the game. No one came within 14 points of us all year long plus while the Cane's Pass D was stellar like it always is, it's rushing D was ranked 60th. Miami's rushing defense has always sucked. However that 95 Squad was bigger, stronger and just as fast as that Miami Squad. ESPN and other outlets are ranking them number one all the time because they had nine go in the first round, pretty easy to do when you're playing in the Weak East. I have no doubt in my mind that 95 Squad would have beaten that Miami Squad by at least 20-24 points. Remember this that 95 Squad posted the greatest blow out in a national championship game ever that still stands to this day against the 2nd ranked team in the nation. One thing that's just as impressive, Nebraska blew out 4 teams that finished ranked in the top 10 that year. 95 Huskers are still the GOAT.

This. Every time someone argues in favor of 2001 Miami the first thing they mention is their NFL talent. Ok? That’s great, but it isn’t all that makes a great TEAM.

2019 LSU has a strong case.

And LSU had 13 guys drafted in the 2020 draft including the 1 pick who won the heisman. Ken Dorsey was an average QB who had no real NFL future

I look at it like this. There is no definite greatest team ever. However when lists and discussions like this come around if the 95 Huskers aren't prominently featured then whomever is putting forth an argument is seriously flawed and shouldn't be taken seriously. Wasn't alive for the 71 team but they seem to be for their Era an all timer as well.

Most overrated team in history. Literally their only accomplishment were a bunch of draft picks. On the field results don’t matter, it’s just draft picks.
