I think he'll really blossom with better coaching and schemes. Ferentz seems to take pleasure in making his most talented players plod through their college careers.

This post really made for a good laugh! You must be subconsciously thinking of the huskers program. Any knowledgeable husker fan would agree.

Speaking of good laughs, it's easy to troll you dorks that insist on hanging out here. You take the prize for rising to the bait. Huge surprise.

But let's be honest, what I said is true. What's more likely next season; Smith-Marsette being a featured WR who becomes a superstar, or Smith-Marsette being a "specialist" who shares the spotlight with some other anonymous guys? It's fine, embrace it. Most schools would salivate to turn Smith-Marsette into a superstar (Nebraska included). Ferentz will make sure he has about 645 yards on the season.

uh oh...plus leading tackler (LB), Geno Stone, their top CB, both DTs, Nate Stanley, T Wirfs and AJ Epenesa....I smell a Husker win coming in 2020. Huge news.

;)

hey it is a Husker board, this is place for this type of talk.

And it wouldn’t make a difference...the Iowa trolls are already here and pitching a tent.

Vegas odds are more in favor of Iowa having a better season than NU...

That’s all..

Iowa has plenty of guys to take their place. I love how people assume this is their demise. Epenesa was good enough to start until this year with Nelson. Iowa will just insert another Iowa kid at OT who will excel.

How many 'skers are leaving early for the draft lol
Totally fair question. Clearly Iowa has (vastly) superior talent, everyone knows that and it's proven out by the NFL success Iowa players have had recently. And... by the last second field goal wins the last two years LOL. I mean... honestly WTF? Aren't you worried just slightly that your coach never gets the team to take the next step? How many conference championships have you racked up with this talent? You guys should be better than you are. How can you disagree? If I was an Iowa fan I'd have the biggest set of football frustration blue balls in the history of college sports.

I’m sure you will still be average again, like almost every other year. So no demise.

he’s the only one. The rest are bouncing out. Huge news for us Huskers. Absolutely HUGE.
Not huge for us, they are always average. We need to improve, but this isn’t a big deal for us, heck it took them a miracle to beat us this year.

I don’t know how you can say that.. Our last possession we played for Overtime, and Ioway went for the win on their last possession..

Really sad when we celebrate a team losing their developed talent so we have a chance to beat them. What ever happened to getting better than the opponent?

they won’t replace AJ Epenesa. He’s their Suh to us. I can see them bring other guys in for Nate Stanley and those guys and keeping it close but AJ Epenesa isn’t going to be replaced. No way no how.

Respectfully disagree. Epenesa is a great player, and may end up being a great pro. But he's no Suh and isn't in the same universe. Suh was a generational player. Iowa can replace Epenesa and probably will. We'll never have another Suh because he was a unicorn.

I can't believe no Iowa fans want to have an honest conversation about the frustrations of being an Iowa fan. And that's me quoting me.

They’re satisfied by beating us the last 5 years even though it’s our worst 5 year period since the Bill Jennings era...

They're not satisfied, they just want us to believe that. I'm not joking around here, how could they be satisfied?

agreed and I was completely wrong there. He definitely is no Suh. What my main point was Iowa will not have another AJ Epenesa type player again for year or another decade. But I’ll be decent here. Hope nothing but the best for AJ Epenesa and his family. He comes from a great blood line.

This is post is pretty sad, got garbled up in your own words kid

I never jump on my own Husker fans. I read plenty of crap that I disagree with and leave it alone and say nothing. If you ever see me come in and jump down another Husker fans throat for hammer on Iowa or definitely our Huskers to an Iowa fan...then please, by all means...tell me to garble up my own words.

And??? What I find sad is a Husker fan just on another Husker fan over Iowa. Now that’s just pathetic in my book.

Seriously, you need to understand how you come across. You are happy to see top Iowa players leave so the Huskers will have a chance to finally win against them. That is what is pathetic. I want the Huskers to get better and destroy the opposition when it is at its best, no excuses, no prisoners, just kick butt. So far, that has not happened. I could care less if Iowa people come on this board, I ignore them, don't feed them and they will leave.
