Iowa DB Koen Entringer told the local media on Friday at ReliaQuest Bowl practice that he will be returning to Iowa for the 2026 season!
Entringer back next year for sure.

X and Hall only losses in the secondary , Iowa will need that level to be outstanding While the DL and LBs get Their sea legs
DB's will be the strength of the defense next year. D really needs to show improvement with so many questions at O. Entringer, Lutmer, Lee, Godfrey, and Watson could be really good.
Like Buffington and Reis chances at taking that year 3 step guys like Campbell and Benson have taken in the past. DL really is a concern. Only return 1 sack (Lutmer). 0 on the DL. Not a lot of depth this year. Not a consistent pass rusher.

So Hawthorne, Merriwether had zero sacks? Still I like the DE's and Hawthorne will be solid. Do have a need at DT though.
Epenesa should be a starter and could be a revelation. I expect him to be outstanding next season.
The hope is Epenesa can contribute significantly in either the pass rush or clogging run lanes. Remember though it took AJ a few seasons before he was well rounded enough to play 70% or more of the snaps. AJ was a great pass rusher early in his Iowa career but was a liability in other areas. Which was why he was a situational player. Iose will still just be in his second season. I wouldn't expect him to be well polished in all areas yet.
I personally expect more from Iose, he's more talented and ahead of the curve at this stage than AJ.
Not sayin he will be 1st Team All-Conference, but I expect him to at least be in the conversation next year.
He's that good and the opportunity for playing time will be there.
