Not during the first half. In the 2nd half, a lot of the student section which is normal. Also the upper deck of the east side had lots of empty seats in the second half. Can’t say about the upper deck on the west side as i was under it. It was still very loud in the stadium. We caused them a number of procedure calls just screaming.

My uneducated guess is we were still 90% full at the end of the game.

I was curious about the empty seats as well after reading a LJS article that said:

In fact, the way the day felt at Memorial Stadium, with so many empty seats, with such an obvious lack of overall energy and anticipation for the game, it is indeed difficult to imagine Riley being brought back for a fourth season.

Well, I trust the posters above. However, on the highlights clips I have watched, when they show crowd shots, it looks like a lot of empty seats. However, as I said, I trust the above observations so I will take that as an accurate assessment rather than a few random clips

There were small spots around the stadium that were empty. At game start the top of the South end student section was empty.

Where I was at, 3/4 of the row in front of me was empty in west stadium, from the start.

It is hard to tell during the game, really. There are SO many people up and down and going to concessions. In my area, there were still people arriving at their seats in the 4th quarter. Talk about annoying. At any rate, I'd say it felt fuller than the Rutgers game but less full than the Wisconsin game.

Was there much booing going on? On TV it seemed the fervor has died down about needing to make a point to the administration and people are now just resigned to the fact the season sucks and there probably will be changes at the end.

Crowd was pretty quiet except on a few scores and third downs. I heard no booing. Some seats around me went empty in second half. Tailgating must have been more attractive. Typical sellout crowd imo.

To be clear, I wasn’t at the game. That was my take from TV.

Booing? No. I never heard any booing (other than against NW maybe). The crowd was cheering and screaming on many plays in the 2nd half. It was loud, almost as loud as the Wisconsin game. When there offense was near either end zone, they got a number of procedure calls cause they couldn't hear.

Listen, most people that have been going to these games for years are in a state of shock at what they are seeing on the field. They are fed up with the staff and what is going on. Everyone knows it is over. We still go and cheer though. What is the point of booing at this point?

It is approaching more of a comical thing really. I am just happy the game is close. I don't even get mad any more. After NIU, I questioned where another win would come from for this team. We didn't just lose to NIU, we got bossed on our home field by a MAC team. Our line on both sides got owned by a MAC team.

This team and this staff have been over since the end of that game. Every regular game day person from the concession stand kids to the weenies sitting in their sky box knows it. We still go to the games though because we still support the Huskers and the players.

I can post pics of Rutgers and Wisconsin as well. That seems to be all I have left on the phone. At any rate, it was no different than any other game this year from my perspective. We have had empty seats almost every game since putting in those new upper deck seats.

Good to see the support. Unlike those who think Eichorst should have been kept until after Iowa, I think things would be way uglier if he were still at the helm and it appeared the administration wasn't doing anything to bring change. Then the fans would strive to make a point. This way the kids can still people show up and hear the cheers in a tight game.

No booing. Some empty seats throughout but none more than usual.

I wouldn't say it was loud, I'd say crowd was similar to a non p5 ooc game than an important conference opponent. Got loud when NW was in the redzone and somewhat when they had a 3rd down but not as loud as you would think in that scenerio. Husker Power chants also were not great.

Some things I did note though about the crowd -
Nearly the entire stadium sat down at the end of our first drive and only afterwards did it look like people seem to realize they sat down and remember we usually stand till we score..... That's INCREDIBLY telling to me.

Also the balloon release after we did score was very easily missable. Not a lot of em.

As for the non- crowd stuff

I did notice that save for the group pileup at the endzone, the team durring pregame warmup, the prayer and tunnelwalk seemed... uninspired.

Also most notable, someone in prodution was having a terrible day. Tunnel walk was mis-timed badly. One of the miniscreens showed a frozen valentino's ad for 20 minutes, another had grey box lines on it periodically and any time there was an interview or speaking shown on screen the sound was a couple seconds behind the video. It wasn't a great day all around.

I was at the game...

Upper portions of the student section in the south endzone was pretty empty in the fourth quarter...also several empty portions of rows in the 600 level. I had clear views of both sections in case anyone disagrees. Winking

Same thing happened at the Ohio State game, and neve rin my life would I think Ohio State would have so many empty seats. I talked to my younger cousins who are in school there right now, and they basically just said that none of the students even care to go to the game anymore.

Maybe I am just getting older, but the University in general has a weird vibe to it anymore.

I'm afraid there is going to be a lot of black and gold in the stands on Black Friday. That will probably not sit well with Mr. Moos.
