Terrible way to defend the pick and roll against Simpson. My head will explode if we don't make the adjustment when they visit us.

I wonder how many shots we took off the dribble. It felt like a TON. If I had to guess, Michigan took 5 (excluding layups).

Offense shots weren't dropping, their Bigs did a good job limiting the # of our offensive rebounds and easy out backs. Heck when we grabbed rebound and went back up we could not get it to go. Off night offensively, Miich. won the game and controlled it from get-go. I was surprised at How good their team was coaches by Jawan. I guess I had Eddie vision when he was announced, but he was solid.

We are now in every game, wether we are hot or not. We have come a long way. Not happy, not overly disappointed either. These games will happen over the course of the season. On to Maryland

With 3 mins to go Michigan was shooting 54% 3 and 50% FG, RU was 34% and 32%. And somehow it was a 2 point game with 15 secs left. Too bad
That’s says it all. We can shoot that poorly and still have a chance to win. That tells me two things. 1. We do a lot of other things very well. 2. It’s awfully hard to beat this Rutgers team.

Embarrassing would have been if the team gave up after falling behind.
The loss was a disappointment, but the never give up attitude this team possesses will never make me embarrassed over how the team played.
Disappointed yes, embarrassed , no way.

We certainly didn't play up to our potential, but in the immediate aftermath, nothing embarrassing about it as I see. Just is what it is. This probably had to happen sometime, so live with it, move on and keep the momentum goigg. RRRRRRRRRR

We hadn't played this poorly since Pitt and we still had a chance at the end. Not gonna be at the top of your game every time. I guess Gonzaga should have been embarrassed too when they lost to Michigan

The score was nowhere close to how the game was played

Despite Rutgers shooting poorly but still being scrappy (as is their style to win many games ugly), they stayed in the fight to keep the score tight down the stretch.

It would have been potentially embarrassing for Mich if they had let that game slip away given the way they played. But they held on. So it goes.

Outcoached. Outplayed.

You don't know what you are talking about and of course Kyk liked your post that you named "Embarrassing". You both should be ashamed of yourselves. Michigan just played better than us overall and they barely won, but we still hustled most of the game.

We did not play great, but still hustled and played great D the last 9 minutes of the game. Twice it looked like we would get beat badly, but Mathis kept us in the game in the first half and we rallied in the 2nd half to get within 2 in the end of the game.

Best of Luck,
Groz

If this was embarrassing to some what would you call some of the football losses to Michigan?

Not an embarrassing game at all. Pike will use this game as a teachable moment.

Love that the basketball board is active again but the success brings out a bunch of morons who don’t know jack or just started following this team yesterday @ScarletLongIsland

Now reality sets in. This team will be pummeled at Maryland. Not sure how the psyche holds up after that. They’ll beat Northwestern and then win yet another game at the RAC they have no business winning for a final record of 18-13.
Ummmm OK. Thanks for the prognostication. I will have to strongly disagree

Certainly not embarrassing.

Missed opportunity? Sure.

This team will still finish in the top 4 of the B1G conference record. They had a bad game, it happens.

I mean maybe the pick and roll defense was embarrassing. More like infuriating for me though.

I mean, we played like utter **** there is no denying it. But embarrassing? We lost by 6 to Michigan on a neutral court. Come on. I know Michigan isn't that amazing this year but it isn't like they are terrible either.

Ffs some of you people really need to take a posting moratorium after losses. THERE IS VARIABILITY IN PERFORMANCE. If you thought we were going to play well all of the remaining games you were always going to be sorely disappointed.

There are a handful of posters who are clinging for dear life for RU to not do well. Maybe they're disguised as fans of other schools, because they pop up seemingly after losses but are ghosts when RU plays well.

It's 11 games into a rugged B1G schedule and I can't find 2 to 3 games per team so far this year, that make you wonder. I could list them all, but Nebraska was actually the time to be critical more than today.

I will say this for the couple of posters that are very happy today...look around the B1G, Big East, etc and you're going to find these games on the scoreboard. Considering a lot of sophomores, Mulcahy learning under the gun and RU will be fine.

The game was disappointing but was not embarrassing. We played hard. We dominated the boards and cause Michigan to make 15 turnovers. Our shooting was off but every team has off games. We got outshot 24-5 on foul shots and Myles Johnson had 4 of our 5 attempts. There were many shots near the basket with contact against our guys and no fouls were called. My son and I were right near the basket and I think much contact was not called when our guys drove to the basket.Things happen.

I agree .Michigan has shooters which Rutgers lacks and that was the difference in the game. Hopefully,at the RAC the result will be different.
It won't be if Pike is out coached again. They had a a plan and we didn't . They made shots and we didn't.

Frustrating, not embarrassing..if when down 14 we folded and lost by 25, that would have been embarrassing..proud of the way the team fought back actually..I would have done some things different strategically in the last 2 minutes, but this was not a bad loss against an improving team that will make the tournament

What killed us today was, we didn't rotate well and left Johns and the other kid open all game for open threes and the real killer was we went 8.5 minutes in the second half without a FG. You can't beat anyone with that long of a drought.
