She looks very strong and from film study has great hands rebounding. Wish she were a little taller but she is kind of Utsby like with her game.

We have a few things we need to fix before Ucla.

Shoot better from 3.

Value the ball and take less risks with it after rebounds.

Show Nyla Brooks some film of her FT shooting form from HS.

Move our feet better on defense.

I like our talent but we can execute lots better IMO.

Certainly not a game we will put in the time capsule for future generations of Heels.

Our next opponent is not likely to be forgiving of some of the play we saw tonight.

Feel terrible for Jayda Angel, a pre-season All-CAA 1st Team selection. I pray I am wrong, but that injury has all the earmarks of an ACL tear.

The offense was clearly awful. But I thought the defense was really encouraging. This team can switch and the help defense was usually on time. Forced 27 turnovers and really solid rebounding with no Thomas and limited Harris.

elon was really scrappy and well coached. I know they may have just lost their best player but they looked like a conference contender.

The game changed when they lost their PG. I think the game would have been much closer had she not gotten hurt. That's a bad thing.

Our depth wore them out which is a good thing. Becoming a big fan of TQ.

I think it is clear that right now-- we just are not good enough to have Nyla Harris or Ciera Toomey get in foul trouble. I think that changes as we progress through the year-- but to me that is a major concern for next week with Betts.

On the other hand, you held a team to below 40 and won by 35 despite shooting 4-26 from 3....

I think Indya has looked really, really good and more comfortable in the exhibition game and the first 2 regular season games. We're slowing down and finishing more. 3-point shooting is going to be what it is. But I will happily take a 6-13 night from her every night paired with 7 rebounds and 6 steals.

Tailyah is a much tougher and more gritty than I expected.

10 people played 8 or more minutes. We are still experimenting, etc.

Also, with or without the injured player- I think Charlotte has built a team to compete in the CAA. The most athletic team she has had in years.

I am glad for Toomey. I see why CB was fiery in the first half. They were playing like crap. The players need to understand that if you are 1 from 11 from the 3-point line, common sense would tell you to go inside to Harris and Toomey. The percentages to make the shot will be higher if you are closer to the basketball. I am sure CB and Staff told them that, but they refused to listen. That problem can be easily fix by taking those players out and sitting their butts on the bench. Dean and Roy did this, and it does work.

harris wasn't in the game for the first half and toomey, though improved, isn't strong or experienced enough to be the only available post player who's going to score through possible double teams on every possession. CB had at least as much criticism for the post play as the guards: “I don’t think our posts played as well as they needed to. They were kind of in la-la land at times.”

imo it's also not good basketball to stop taking good shots just because a few haven't fallen.

Another huge difference in the 2nd half was the starting backcourt - IMHO, RK needs to start at the 1 and EA at the 2 - our flow is much better with them in the backcourt - Lanie needs to be the sub for them - I won’t be surprise if EA ends up being our best 3 pt shooter which is why I would like to see more minutes at the 2 for her

1 for 11 is not a few shots. That is a lot to be missing. That is 9% for the three point line. That is bad. They need to at least shoot a midrange, floater, or something if the 3 and inside is not working.
