Elkhorn North Wolves

Nebraska's next newest high school will be the Elkhorn North Wolves, opening in 2020. Not to far behind will be three new OPS high schools in 2022.

Not finalized but not to far away are likely new high schools for LPS and the Papio LaVista district by mid 2020's. Class A and B continues to shift to metro Omaha and Lincoln.

They were, not sure what their plans are now.

Bennington will have a second high school within 5-7 years.

I was told about 6 or 7 years ago that they already had the land to do it, but they had to worry about building more elementary and middle schools first. Their younger grades are getting bigger and bigger. I believe that 100% capacity at Gretna High School is about 1400 and by looking at the boys and girls bball numbers on the NSAA website(487 girls & 485 boys for 3 classes), I estimate that they have around 1300 in the high school right now. A couple years ago the average size of their elementary school classes was about 385. That would put them over capacity at the high school in a few years. In looking at numbers, their enrollment has been growing by an average of 3-4% every year. I think it is just a matter of time.
