Carolina has had a number of 1st round picks and Gio was the first back taken in the draft a few years ago. Hood really shined last night and will have a great career with the Heels. Really start questioning OC's play calling. I would have given it to Hood twice from the 3. Even if he doesn't score you have them pinned at the 1 or 2.

Yeah and he never won more than 8 game either and played in front of empty stadiums. Elijah Hood would have been better off sticking with his ND commitment or playing football at a school that actually cares about their football program. It looked like a home game for USC last night.

I am not a fan of Williams. If Fedora is not going to let him use his legs then they need Trubitsky at QB. Williams gets frustrated at the little things and implodes and last night he solely lost that game. Hood is a beast and will do big things.

Why would Carolina want a running Qb with the running backs they have? Makes no sense but its fun to watch them lose. :)

UNC play calling was subpar. The Heels need to decide on running backs and get those guys reps reading the defense. Williams is athletic but he does not make good decisions throwing the ball. I hope Logan and Hood have not wasted their future.

UNC's administration should be fired not just for the scandals and sports but for everything. Sad how they have a class on the 9/11 terrorist and is taught from the perspective that the United States is at fault. Chancellor defended it as teaching from a different perspective. That goes beyond liberal, just moronic.

Fedora wanted the light of super-stardom to shine on Williams for winning the Heels that game and he ignored the obvious that was right in front of him...Hood. Kind of like how Pete Carroll tried to do the same with Russell Wilson when he had Beast Mode there to win it all. Stupidity on the part of Fedora. Sayonara at year's end.

First of all, USC was not there, they are in LA. I was there and it certainly did not look like a home game for the Cocks although they travel well and certainly support their team. Lower level was 50/50 but Cocks had more in the upper decks. Stadium should have been packed, but ticket prices were ridiculous. Hood had a great start and will get a lot of attention playing for the Tar Heels. As far as ND goes, that certainly worked our for Florida State's new starting QB.

smh. All I've heard all day is this type of talk. If Hood is an All American after gaining most of his yards against a worn out, bad SC defense.....(10 per carry overall)....then what is that Carson kid from SC doing the same (all 4th quarter yardage against a bad, tired D) at 19 per carry? Guess he's an NFL All Pro to be as a third string RB.

The difference is that Fedora doesn't give any of his RB's a chance to establish a rhythm. NC State is headed for same problem with that stable they have this season. Once you find your horse, ride em bud!

Oh yeah...sure. But, he may not be the right horse. TJ Logan, Goodson, Francis....even Morris- have all shown flashes. Logan wouldn't have been caught on those two long runs where he went untouched the first 20 yards. Those would've been TD runs.

I'm a UNC alumni and I do like Fedora, but why Hood is on the sidelines any time the Heels get into the redzone is a complete mystery to me. He looked like a bull when he was hitting the gaps last night, but we seem to want to pass into the end zone when we get inside the 10.

Check his history, that is what Fedora does. He never pounds it into the end zone. Unfortunately, he is like Lane Kiffin, he always wants to outthink himself in the Redzone. The mighty Kiffin cost Bama a National Championship last year when all he had to do against OSU was give it to Derrick Henry 40 times to eat clock and score touchdowns. Both those guys always want big plays, usually to the detriment of the team. JMO.

I wish I could say you were wrong, but I'm afraid you have pretty well summed it up. (((sigh)))

At least the UNC defense wasn't an epic flop like last year.... or SC has an even worse offense than I thought (I guess I'll have to wait to see which it is).

Baffling choices from OC and HC. Coach promised to ride the hot hand but I guess he didn't ride him when it counted. Very disappointing and us UNC we deserve all criticism... Finish strong!
