Saw where UK is looking at this kid. Anyone seen him play or knows how good he is ?

He played with the Thompson twins in OTE. Watched 3-4 of their games. He's an undersized combo guard who isn't super athletic and doesn't exactly pass the eye test. Didn't strike me as UK material, but what do I know.

Is that the white dude who can shoot the lights out? Don’t think he does much more but he can shoot it if it’s who I’m thinking of. He’s also 5-10 and 155 pounds. I don’t think he’s UK material though.

Isn't he like 12 years old?
He’s the youngest player there, don’t know his exact age. Edit: OTE has him listed at age 17 and class of 2025. They also list him as being 6 foot tall now(prolly 5’10”) in reality.

Doesn’t look like the typical Calipari PG but he’s been fun to watch. And has shown he can score against bigger, more talented players.
He prolly wouldn’t be a bad player to come in for a couple minutes and try to shoot some 3’s. If he grows or shows more then he could be a nice off the bench piece someday.

I’ve watched him play in person multiple times this summer.

First 5’10” May be a stretch. Thought he was pretty short.

But have seen him scorch multiple teams with kids that have players with power 5 offers.

I have seen a lot of kids this summer with high major D1 offers though and wasn’t really blown away by the majority of them.

I watched him in person at Rocky Top Sports Complex. He’s an elite scorer but lacks the size and speed to play in a systems like ours. He uses his body well and can shoot from anywhere. He’ll be one of these guys who could torch us on a given night and leave everyone wandering who is this kid. He’ll be a good fit somewhere like West Va, NC State or Iowa.

Steph was just flat out missed by everyone, he's 6'3 with elite skills. Ball handling, passing, shooting are all elite and always were, he was just skinny
Yeah. I don't expect every better-than-expected kid to turn into a Top 5 All-Time. This kid is not only smaller than the average bear, he's baby-faced. He looks like the kid who should be court side waiting for the big kids to finish playing. The game clips highlight videos show him hitting 3s, but everybody hits 3s in highlight videos. They also show him deferring to his senior teammates. He isn't snake-like quick, but he has good court awareness and is a willing passer. But if it weren't for his supposed amaze-balls shooting he'd be looking for a good intramural game in 2 years. But he's got a year to grow, and he's worth keeping tabs on.

I liked the one video which showed him and his brother kidding around. Funny guys.

He’s got a brother?!? Oh no.

I took 2 of my sons to their first ever Rupp Arena game 11/25/2000 vs Penn State. Bought txs outside from a “ broker”. Guy who wore a ND jacket and sat on a walker.

Watched Tubby sit in a zone while the Crispin brothers torched us with 13 3 pointers and beat us. Joe with 31 and Jon with 26.

Just an awful night.

Really surprising considering who his dad was too. That alone should have gotten him a high major offer with his skills.

Eli Ellis has broken basically every Overtime Elite record this season. 33.1 PPG and second in the league in assists at 5.3 APG. He's the best player there, honestly.

You would think kids with NBA dads would tend to be overrated but it seems to be opposite.
Steph and Seth.
Brent, Drew, and Jon Barry
Klay Thompson.
Hardaway Jr.
None of those guys were McDonald's AA's but all played in the NBA.

IQ and fundamentals go a long way. Further than athleticism alone in a lot of cases. Glad it’s still the case. If it weren’t the sport would lose a lot I think.

Unless you’re Lebron’s kid then you get every opportunity to get that name boost.
