I like following some of the smaller programs around the State. Will the Colonels ever put on the court a consistently good (ie make the tourney and possibly further) team? I know they’ve made the tourney several times-so it CAN be done.

EKU used to have a guy, Timmy Knipp, who played high school ball in my region. Was 6'6 - 6'7ish and could drain 3s. I think he graduated EKU last year. I thought for sure he was gonna be a superstar there because I don't think I've seen a better HS player. Averaged around 30ppg Junior and Senior year. Would literally step across half court and hit shots with ease. I don't know why he didn't pan out.

Murray State has been fun to watch on occasion. Went to a home game there on campus in 93-94 season and that place was rocking.

I have an uncle who graduated from Murray. I always root for them as the OTIS.

Never knew much about EKU.

WILL NEVER root for ORIS.

The colonels make the tourney every 3-5 years. EKU will be back soon enough.

*Right now it's Western's turn to be a good team. If they keep Bassey......watch out! They would've been a ncaa tourney team this year had Robinson played. They went deep in the NIT tourney playing away games against power 5 teams this year. They could've been a sweet 16 team with Robinson.

There’s virtually no basketball culture at EKU. Will be interesting to see what, if anything, the new coach does to drum up excitement.

I would say in a few years look for NKU to be the other top team in the state. They are in an area that is developing and has some money. They also have a good athletic department and will go after local talent. Give them about another five years, and I wouldn't be surprised if they consistently starting making the tournament. They have a well rounded sports program, but I can definitely see them putting more emphasis on basketball. As far as I know, they don't have a football team either. I will love it if NKU starts to throttle Louisville every year, I always root for them as long as their not playing against UK.

Averaged about 11ppg his Sr year at EKU. Not a star but not bad. He played against white kids in the mountains. He wasn't destined to be a star, he was a pretty good player

Doubtful, but I think their AD (who made awful hire before based on a flippin recommendation from Rick Pitino...shocker) just made a pretty good hire with that young man from Scott County - AW Hamilton. He's picked up the recruiting at least.

Agree. I try to root for EKU on the side but too often there’s not much to root for.
