So hard not to bash any player but EJ is EJ folks.

Maybe time will tell and I will be more than happy to eat crow but he is what he is. In basketball you either get better or worse. Players never stay the same. I'm also not digging his demeanor.

ej is the one tall guy on your otherwise 5’-11” pick up team. The one tall guy that if he stayed down low and rebounded would let you run 5 straight. Instead, he hangs out right at the arc jacking 3’s leaving you no rebound presence.

EJ will be an asset.. setting picks.. upping his rebound game and taking up space on D and putting a big body in front of opponent bigs.. It looks like him taking up some front court minutes as a sub is his role. Fortunately Nate S has been a great add. Hope Nick seizes his opportunity. UK is a Guard and Wing team this year. But March comes in a new year. EJ has a lot of time to get on track. Uk will be a Defensive Monster if They can defend the post. Still a role for EJ.

He may not be great, but he's a hell of a lot better than Nick. EJ has the potential to get better, where as I believe what we see is what we get with Nick. We'd all be making fun of Duke for relying on a Bucknell transfer as our low post presence. Sestina is UK's version of Luke May, who they won a championship with btw. We're just thin down low this year. Cal bringing in the baseball player is evidence that he expected to land Blackshear and got caught shorthanded on the roster with lack of bigman depth. Gotta hope Whitney, Juzang, Maxey and Brooks can bring it this year to be semi elite. Also, would love for Allen to get a shot at some point. Accept it, we're going to be a guard heavy/strong team, and that may be enough to reach the final four.....

You mean by giving up more points than he contributed or helped stop. Then yea, you're right. Quade Green is arguably the worst scholarship player to play here outside of maybe Skal under Coach Cal.
Wow. You must have a short memory. What about Ryan Harrow, Tai Wynyard, SKJ and even Hamidou Diallo. They all played about the same length of time at UK. Which one of those scholarship guys contributed more than Green?

You were right. Im wrong. SKJ and Wynyard were worse. I should have said Quade was arguably one of the 3 worst scholarship players to play at UK. Im not giving you Harrow or Diallo though.

Rebounding is probably going to be a weakness this year, just accept it and focus on what we can do good. Because nothing is going to make EJ or Nick become stronger, dedicate themselves to rebounding or better at fighting for position. Like last year when everyone should have known Hagans wouldn’t suddenly develop a 3 pt shot during his first year.

Hey, we met half way. Good deal.

Sounds good because I really don't want to argue a negative discussion. I don't want any of these players no matter where they go to have bad careers or not be successful at whatever they do. I hope they all achieve their goals just like I would hope people would want me to succeed.

While I was intending humor, I also believe that there is truth in the statement. EJ has size and talent. He “should “ be a really good player. However, he has not yet figured out how to use his size and talent to be a productive player at this level. That doesn’t mean he won’t figure it out, but subpar performances against subpar competition isn’t good for a player’s confidence.

I just can’t say I ever see EJ play really hard ,or is it just me ?

EJ is actually easy to explain...no motor.
He reacts way too late to a loose ball. Something is off with his balance. Looks to always be going the wrong way when there is a play to be made. Plus he just doesn't seem to have much lower body strength.

Going to be a long season. Glad to have Sestina.

EJ always looks like he's trying to figure out what to do next instead of doing it.

In a lot of years, we've been forced to play guys who aren't ready. This year we've got Nick, Sestina, EJ, Brooks that can play the front court spots.

Most guys improve a lot by year's end. EJ won't be definied by this early season stuff, but he's got a long way to go.

EJ has no motor..plays with no energy or hustle. He just trots up and down the floor..Won't even run hard on a 3-1 or 2-1 break.....and soft as cotton..
