RJ Davis is most likely coming back, bacot and Ryan are the only ones gone most likely. They are also bringing into two really good wings, so where would Tyson play?
I believe he should probably be their starting SF. But I hope UNC doesn't see it that way.

This is what turns me off about UK.Duke got the big flopper back last season and his draft status was way better than Justin's.
Here's the reality. The Duke flopper didn't help himself by coming back. He may have made some NIL $, but he cost himself much more $ by delaying his decision.

Most the players who help their draft status by returning are mid 2nd round players who move into the first round, or players who were not even on the draft board. (Knect will probably be a lottery pick this year.)

Regarding Edwards, he may sneak into the back of the first round. But, he's a player that could/should return and move into top 20 next year. Unfortunately, I think most of these decisions are made before they ever step foot on a college campus. Then, it becomes nearly impossible to convince the family/advisors that the player needs another year of development.

Two thoughts -1) This is reason it would be crazy for Reed to return. Coming back for another year will cost him millions of dollars. 2) I think Dajuan Wagner encourages DJ to be patient and come back and work on his game instead of trying to last in NBA as 2nd round pick. He can return, improve his game and really position himself next year to get drafted in a position that will set him up for life.

If he's really entering the draft without option of returning(and he can return until a certain date or he signs with an agent), he is deluded. He won't get drafted.

God you sound ridiculously entitled. Cal brought the kid here, it was always about getting to the NBA as quick as possible for him. And honestly that's fine, I don't have a single issue with that.

Cal is the one who created this mess, this culture, and recruits these kinda kids who clearly want to be one and done. So yes, I respect him for being quick in his decision and not further using UK and stringing us along, like he could, like Cal would encourage. Get over yourself and put your anger on the guy who deserves it.

Relax.

I’m not angry at all towards Edwards or any player. Why would I be angry at 18-20 year old guys?

My point was it’s sad that we’ve gotten to the point that we have to have “much respect” for a mid tier player for us announcing for the draft. Lol. Calling him mid tier isn’t disrespectful or said out of anger. It’s just fact.

Obviously the players come here because of Calipari and leave after 1 year no matter what also because of Calipari. That’s clear as day.

For whatever reason you seem very intimate about the players and I can assure you my (and most others) anger is not directed at the players.

This is a very weak rough draft of their roster, but rj Davis, Ingram, and Jackson are locks for starters, the Powell kid is probably another starter, they need a 2 guard but Cadeau may be that guy, so then it’s a center that’s left and their fans seem convinced they are getting pj hall from Clemson

I thought he was supposed to be trying to convince ssome of these kids to return? What could he have possibly said to Edward’s that convinced him he was ready? Unless he just wanted him gone ?

The fan base was on board with this stuff when there was a trade off and something in it for them. When guys like Cousins/Wall/AD/MKG/Knight/Towns/Booker, etc. came, they added something to the program and everyone wished them well when they declared.

But you've got guys bouncing before fans can even learn their name and doing so without adding anything to the program at all.
We've been stuck on the mediocre freshman treadmill since 2017.

Instead of getting multiple stars from a single class, we are lucky to have 1. They all then leave as if they were prospects like Cousins or Towns.

What roster issues? I assumed with: Davis, Bacot, and Ryan all exhausting their eligibility there are plenty of spots to fill around Ingram? Are they in a scholarship crunch?
Apparently R J Davis can play one more year if he chooses.......known as the Bacot Plan

Thanks for letting me know Davis has an extra year left. Seems wild because he went to the national championship game, then missed the tourney, then was a #1 seed and played a lot as a Freshmen. Guys playing 5 years still can’t get used to. For next year: Davis, Cadeau, and Jackson don’t really work together. Too short and very little defense if you play all three together. As we discovered this year Guard defense on the perimeter is fairly crucial.

I understand your point. And I'm not a coach getting paid millions like Hubert Davis, so I wouldn't take my opinion either. But if I were the coach at UNC and Cade Tyson wanted to come in, he would be my starting SF based on the roster at this point and the freshmen you've mentioned that are coming in.

And I hadn't heard the PJ Hall to UNC speculation. But Hall, Ingram and Tyson would be one of the best frontcourts in CBB. I would take that at UK right now regardless of who else is available.

The hall stuff is their fans saying it, more than it maybe actually happening. Davis, Jackson and Cadeau can work if you have a elite rim protector and a stretch four

Why would RJ Davis return? Dude can flat out play. He doesn’t belong in college. Is he projected as a lottery? I haven’t looked lately.

Why don’t they all just announce this is just so stupid they do about 1 a week. It’s not like you did anything special to warrant spreading the announcements out to 1 a week just do them all at once. So the team can get on with business as usual and pick up other players.
That’s how Cal wants it. Gives each kid their day in the spotlight. Guarantee, Rob will announce tomorrow, DJ on Saturday and Reed on Sunday

I can see that working too, And by being patient and sticking around, I think Ingram (who was highly ranked recruit coming out of high school) has turned himself into that stretch 4. Of course, maybe he has already indicated he isn't coming back next season, I don't know.
