McDawg22 usually start's these, but I am firing up the goods tonight as the last Saturday night of baseball.

I'm cooking 2 Snake River Farms Wagyu Strips on the Inferno with my blue cheese compound butter on top. Mrs Sock's will be inside roasting rainbow carrots with a balsamic and maple glaze. She's also making some shallot, bacon, and 3 cheese stuffed medium portabello mushrooms.

For drinks I am making a cinnamon spiced old fashioned with Michter's bourbon.

Bonus.

Since we are getting into some bacon I am going for a concoction I have read about in various forms over the years... It won't be ready until tomorrow as the bourbon will need to spend the night in the freezer, but I plan on needing a little hair on the dog in the morning.

I am making a liter of bacon infused Buffalo Trace to use in a Tabasco Bloody Mary mix with the bacon infused bourbon in place of vodka and a couple sticks of bacon in place of the celery. I am calling it the Bluegrass Widow in honor of the Robert Earl Keen song.

What are the rest of you Back Porch Boys cookin and drankin?

Damn, that’s a nice cut if I’ve ever seen one.

We’re going Italian tonight with shrimp and lobster ravioli with alla panna sauce, but I’ll be doing my first ever Mississippi pot roast tomorrow, and my mouth is watering just thinking about it. I would’ve done it tonight but I just ran out of time for the slow cook.

I’m usually a bourbon guy, but this time of year I tend to get into the run and tequila a little more, so I’ll most likely be mixing up a couple of those with some lime juice. If any of y’all have a good luck drink, let me know, and I’ll mix one up

Vodka and Diet Coke and a Totino's frozen pizza later on.

Edit: I will probably add slices of smoked sausage from Buc-ee's on the pizza.

Sounds delicious. Make sure you skip out on the Tito's tonight as Tito was a Kappa Sign at Texas. Western Son Vodka is bulldog owned. No since in risking the bad juju.

That cut looks INCREDIBLE. Shame to ruin it with blue cheese butter.

We are cooking nothing special: salmon and corn on the grill, with baked potatoes. Drinks: Queen's Reward Mead with dinner, good craft beer (Timber Beast, Midnight Special, Dales IPA, Hopsecutioner, and maybe a few more) before and Irons One Heavy Char after.

Gotta tell you gents. It's hard to not cook a perfect steak with the inferno. 2 minutes each side for the 1-1/4" wagyu. On sale for $279 right now if you are looking to give the wife a hint for a birthday or late father's day gift.

Red snapper filets that were fresh caught two weeks ago, corn on the cob that I bought out of the field Thursday, and roasted baby red potatoes. All on the egg as we speak, well the veggies are, the fish is waiting for it's time It'll cook fast. Dos Equis for the win.

If you can’t get a big TV in an outdoor bar yet, just get a small TV and put it next to the pool. Fun fact I won the TV at a golf tournament and didn’t know what to do with it until I got the pool 2 years later.

Page refresh got me. Didn’t use notes because I didn’t intend to type much. Not retyping. I’m recreating this from a few weeks ago. Sous vide filet “blued”. About 2-1/4” thick filets sous vide’d to 137 degrees in L&P and a little soy sauce. Quick sear on the outside in a hot pan.

I am a Smirnoff guy. Paying more for vodka is the most nonsensical thing ever.

I do the same thing. I just have a small smart TV I drag in and out as needed.

Filets, asparagus, potatoes.

Got the special made makers. Brewery here went and made a batch. Got a bottle of it as a gift. Pretty fantastic in the old fashions

I mounted a smaller TV like that to an aluminum two wheel dolly. Bought a fire wire adapter to plug in my phone so I can stream anything just about anywhere.

The mead wasn't bad. It's not really my thing but it's actually what they call Scarlet Noir. It worked. It's a mead wine mix. I want to try one of their real meads. If you aren't familiar with Queen's Reward, it's out of Tupelo.

Had some fresh sweet corn with dinner today--shaved off the cob, skillet-fried and cooked down to perfection. Man, that's some good eating.

Cold Heinekens for the game.

Just don't piss off the wife, she might give that thing a little help into the pool
Funny thing. We got back from vacation Friday night and just watched the game on the couch because we were both exhausted. My wife looks at me in the 7th and says, you need to drink. We win when you drink. I was about to conform but I remembered I didn’t drink for the UVA game.
