Dalger one of the guys I hope is gone. Getting tired of his childish temper tantrums after games. If he’s not bumping other teams players he’s bumping our own coaches.

Yes McWright is the answer.. 11 points with zero threes.

We may get to 7... hell maybe 8 whole wins next year with this stud!!!

You don't have to say it, we all know. But then you could just quote that for the next 3 games. That would certainly be appreciated.

He only took 1 3ptr. He's a freshman and he was 4-6 from 2pt land, 0-1 from 3pt land, and 3-3 from the free throw line. You can't ask a guy to shoot much better than that. Go hibernate till next season. The recruits will arrive, people will leave.

He also took at least 3 charges. I am on-board with him now.

Freshman mistake by McWright but a really good game from him otherwise
He wasn’t open and everyone told him to look for Betson. Betson probably should have come to get the pass from the rebound. But one desperate possession that was unlikely to be successful should not be what we dwell on. We might look to the 4 offensive rebounds for ECU to start the second half, and bad dribble handoffs which cost us 6-8 points and the game.

How did Konkol's scheme from LA Tech fail to translate in such a spectacular failure? Konkol needs to hire a defensive specialist like what Haith did with Wainwright because this scheme is not close to working

This game showed the scheme DOES work. We were missing several key players. We played a walk on 19 minutes & freshmen & reserves most of the game. The scheme does work if your players (especially team leaders) will follow the scheme. We need better players, period. If you want to trash Konkol, that’s your opening. Saying he overestimated or misread the returning talent is a legitimate criticism. I will be very surprised if we aren’t much improved next season.

I know for a fact the talent level is lower than the staff even realized. Thank you for a common sense post. We will be MUCH improved next season

Who is accountable for evaluating talent and determining what the roster should look like?
You realize he really only had time to cobble a roster together and figure out who he was going to keep after year one? Oh wait, that’s right, you refuse to acknowledge that.

He came late after kids had entered the portal and TU had yet to enter the NIL collectives due to Dickson’s conservative stance. Konkol lost players Aston would have signed because of that and few were left. Now he has had time to recruit and had a top 100 November class and I bet he will turn it into a top 50-60 class yet in April. He has been on the road recruiting as a head coach more in the last year than Haith did in his first five years combined. I think his biggest mistake may have been bringing back KES when he didn’t have too. I have always been a big KES fan but he never returned to that 4 star player he was as a Junior in high school.

The talent level was as low as I have ever seen in 60+ years of following and watching TU basketball.

KES most definitely should have been recruited over. He had several years to overcome the injury and perform at Arkansas and here for Haith. I think he just said the right things to fool Konkol into believing he was going to be better. I'm pretty sure he promised to slim down and work towards his skill level in High School, and Konkol believed him. Heck I imagine even KES believed KES.

KES does have a kid. Could be that basketball isn’t the priority it once was for him. There probably aren’t too many guys who can balance the demands of school and college sports these days and being a dad. Hopefully he can finish his degree, move on, and focus on that

KES did start the season fairly strongly, he had a few good games. Kind of like the rest of the team, they started strong until the losses piled up then everyone's game went to crap.
