Not that much. We got respect? A good game against Bama (win or lose) and a bowl game type season is possible.
GO CATS!
GO CATS!
Agree. We could be in for a long day. Gotta outscore them.Gonna need a whole lot more defense than today to make it close. The secondary was a sieve this afternoon. And running game defense was not as tight as it will need to be next week.
Think we were down 2 CB’s today. If back next week that could shore up the D.Everyone talks about the offense going vanilla today to save for Bama. It's possible the defense could have been doing the same thing. I mean the game could have easily been 50-0 I'm sure.
Both starting CB’s were held out today from being dinged up. The defense was really vanilla and I’d expect more blitzes and stunts next week. Afari only played a handful of snaps as well. I believe the Cats have the weapons to put pressure on Alabama and the defense will have to step it up! I would take the 10.5 and bet the Cats!Gonna need a whole lot more defense than today to make it close. The secondary was a sieve this afternoon. If 10.5 is a gift, bet heavy and hope the spread does not increase.10.5 is a gift
Spread should be 8-8.5 at most
I would be careful with betting it heavy....If 10.5 is a gift, bet heavy and hope the spread does not increase.
Did Afari play yesterday? I didn’t think he did. Both starting CB’s were held out today from being dinged up. The defense was really vanilla and I’d expect more blitzes and stunts next week. We were missing two starting CB's yesterday and Stein said we chose to give up some in the passing game to limit their QB's ability to run the ball. Stopping Bama will be a huge challenge obviously but I wouldn't draw too much from yesterdays defensive performance. I realize it was an FCS opponent but YSU is one of the better ones offensively and we did limit them to around 300 total yards.Gonna need a whole lot more defense than today to make it close. The secondary was a sieve this afternoon. And running game defense was not as tight as it will need to be next week.
Yeah I read more about that news later in the responses after I had already replied. We were missing two starting CB's yesterday and Stein said we chose to give up some in the passing game to limit their QB's ability to run the ball. More confidence in them than the 2018 or 2021 teams for example? I'm definitely not going that far with it at this point but the Oline shows a lot of promise as long as they can stay healthy.Yeah I read more about that news later in the responses after I had already replied.
It will be tough but I have more confidence in this team to at least make it fun than any Stoops team.
Maybe not. Perhaps it's just a feeling of "well I feel better than the last few years, for now...".More confidence in them than the 2018 or 2021 teams for example? I'm definitely not going that far with it at this point but the Oline shows a lot of promise as long as they can stay healthy.
Alabama looked good Saturday too. Both starting CB’s were held out today from being dinged up. The defense was really vanilla and I’d expect more blitzes and stunts next week. Feels like a game that could be less than 7 all game and uk be proud of that, only to give up a late td .I would be careful with betting it heavy....

We held Youngstown's running QB to 2.4 yards a carry on 12 attempts. But he got us good through the air. I am worried about the pass defenseOur defense was way out of position on many snaps. That isnt a playbook issue, its a discipline issue. It was shockingly bad and did nothing to quell my concerns about Bateman.
If we don't get it fixed, expect to get gashed by qb run game.
I am just slightly worried about our d line and corner play.Don’t forget Afari barely played in the opener. I bet he won’t come off the field
Our defense needs to fix a lot of crap before I'm ready to proclaim "we want Bama!"
Missed assignments against St. Tom's Technical College and Bistro is fine. Missed assignments against an SEC opponent is basically a guaranteed touchdown.
That and we will have our 2 starting CB's back too. We played pretty vanilla on both sides of the ball. I look for a whole different approach in 2 days....Don’t forget Afari barely played in the opener. I bet he won’t come off the field
UK +315 on the ML. You should bet the house.Think of how we played an even better Texas team last season at home with a poor offensive coordinator. I like our odds to win not just to cover.
They are 2-39-1 against them all time. UK has beat them once in the last 100 years in 1998.Is Bama our current longest losing streak against an SEC opponent?
