Like him or not he did something no QB has done in 8 years. Get us to a bowl. Baby steps but still progress.
TMart did that every year and yet people trashed the **** out of him. Don't think it does any good to baby players, especially those who are playing below their talent level as Dylan had been playing for a good chunk of the year.

What's he making, a $1 million plus? That sets the standard that DR is not just any old freshman QB. If you're getting paid, you had better produce. Unfair or not, that's how society judges performance.

We had 40% less turnovers with a true freshman QB than we had the prior year.
I get that, but lacked in so many different areas. If you look at Adrian Martinez freshman season he beats out DR. Where did it go from there? Don't get me wrong, I like DR and hope for the best, but also ready for disappointment as we've seen so many times before.

DR freshman year:
Passing Yards - 2,595
Passing TDs - 12
Rushing Yards - -68
Rushing TDs - 0
Interceptions - 10
DR currently sits 8th in the Big 10.

AM freshman year:
Passing Yards - 2,617
Passing TDs - 17
Rushing Yards - -629
Rushing TDs - 8
Interceptions - 8
- He finished sixth in the Big Ten Conference in passing yards and total touchdowns, and was fourth in passer rating.

My response was to your comment …

“Seemed to take his time getting the ball out, took a few to many sacks, and the intereptions/fumbles were no different than the past season QB’s”

I was merely saying that the turnovers were cleaned up significantly and not at all close to last year.

Yeah, it's not even close. Raiola's 12/10 TD/Int ratio vs. Adrian's 25/8 ratio. Not saying they won't have very different career trajectories, but AM had the far better freshman year.

Had to work through a new coordinator and a couple WR's who dropped sure TD's and catches that turned into interceptions in a few games. He had some true freshman mistakes on his part, but he will only get better with Dana and better WR's.

ESPN has Dylan and CJ's QBR as almost identical with Dylan slightly better.
