Nebraska didn't extend his contract until March of 2026 for a reason. If he didn't perform well this year, he was likely out
Or their AD is intelligent unlike Hobbs and doesn’t shell out top 25 contracts in the country with one of the largest buyouts for a coach who didn’t earn it yet

The extension after beating Michigan State during the season at MSG was so bizarre

Yea I'm sure you protested it at the time. Why don't you send a copy of your post taking exception to the extension? You are such a fraud dude

An extension mid season is a little strange regardless of your feelings about BAC you just rarely see it in any sport

so Pike got a big extension in 2020 I believe even before the season was over...somewhat a surprise because they still hadnt made the tourney yet but they were going to and would have if it wasnt cancelled. He got a big time extension in 2022 which coming off of 2 ncaa tourneys he deserved but again RU was playing in first four....certainly was debated a bit here but probably fair but not with a buyout like that...its clear Hobbs let Pikes agent fleece him

the big issue was a very unnecessary one year extension in 2023...wtf why? he was just extended to 2029 the year before, a february extension was really really strange, just because they beat Michigan State at Msg TIU didnt even make the tourney so it was more head scratching by March...yeah only one year but its one year more Kelli is now saddled with $4 million plus

March 9 was after the regular season ended

what’s you’re definition of mid after all 20 conference games are complete ?

Is the season still going on? Is it football season on October 30th? Because that's when Matt Rhule signed an extension. Saying coaches dont get extensions during the season is fake news. Again, why don't you show the forum your posts protesting Pikes extension. Lord knows you have an opinion on everything

Funny I went back to February 2nd of 2022 to see all the experts who thought it was ridiculous that Pike was extended and everyone was in favor of it. RUdiddy for instance commented I wish it was for more years. No mention from BAC stab how ridiculous it was. Btw, BAC stab also had us in the tournament

Here’s a star playing in the NCAAs unlike we had with Ace and Dylan. In fairness I’m sure BYu has a lot more NiL than we had last year. But, does anyone know those exact numbers? How much did BYU have to spend NOT COUNTING what Dybansta got paid? How much did Dybansta get? What did Ace and Dylan get each? What did RU pay others last year not Ace and Dylan? Any estimates are appreciated because you know more than me. Thanks.
He got paid $7m from BYU, but I’m sure he made even more with deals, etc. Wright got another $4mill, others got paid a ton too.

I like Hoiberg a lot and especially like his son. This is no slight on my opinion of him. Just saying that there is not much difference between Pike and him. They are both good guys and good coaches

The fact that Pike made that run with Eddie Jordan's guys in BIG1G tournament is certainly a testament to his coaching prowess
All of this Hoiberg/Pikiell talk got the creative juices flowing. Fred has his son Sam, Pike just needs a Sam…..but wait he has Kevin Pikiell waiting in the wings at Sacred Heart. Hear me out now…..Kevin transfers to RU and he becomes the Swiss Army knife, hustle, do all the dirty work, make the key play guy for us by 2028 and we make our run to the Sweet 16…….voila!!! Oh wait a minute….Pike might be gone before then? What?! I think I need to fire up the flux capacitor, grab Marty McFly and travel ahead a year to warn Keli she’s making a grave mistake! Great Scott!!!

Prior to this season, Pike is 6-3 lifetime against Hoiberg. He has certainly done very well this year, but let's not forget that he was very close to losing his job after last year. Incidentally, his son probably saved it
And outside of his ppg., most of his numbers are better than those of Braeden Smith'
