Always wondered about those and if they were for a special purpose. Still seems odd to put them in the upper level.

Does anyone know what rows they are so I can maybe score some on the secondary market?

It’d be nice if they put chairbacks in every seat like nfl stadiums do.

I would certainly like that from a comfort perspective, but I don't know if there is even one FBS stadium (that is not also an NFL stadium) with all chairbacks, although some have had recent expansions (like an endzone) with all chairbacks. I figure they are likely charging some sort of premium for those.

If you made Davis Wade all chairbacks, then the demand for club level seats would go down. How much, I'm not sure. NFL stadiums with all chairbacks still have huge club levels.

Used to sit up there, great seats to watch a game. It used to be just the first 4-5 rows but when they started dismantling The Dude that is where they went with the seats. Not sure how many rows are up there now. The first two rows are in front of the walkway so they are great.

I think Louisville is all chair backs. They come to mind immediately. I think there are others as well if I think for a second.

South Carolina has bench seats but a row backrest that covers every bench set in the non-club chair back area, which is 90%+ of the seating, have always had it since I have been here(1991).

I would be much more likely to attend more games if I had a defined space to sit in. My desire to pay $75/person to sit on a metal slab is very low.

It works out to almost exactly $75/after the donation for those chairbacks. We have 4 on row 2 and 2 directly in front of them on row 1 and step down out of the aisle directly into our chairbacks and exit the same way. Never get shuffled by anyone all game and have an unobstructed view of everything that's happening in the game. Can stand up and not obstruct anyone behind us also and be at restrooms/concessions in under a minute. Started with 2 up there and have 6 together now. Should have gone ahead and got a couple more while the seats were available this season. Probably not the absolute best tickets in the stadium, but I've yet to find anything close on value.

I sit row 1 in 308 and love the seats. Great view, no one in front of me, very close to concessions and restrooms. I had 2 in sec 5 and 2 in 308 last year. I cut back to two seats and chose to keep the upper level chairbacks.

That's pretty bold of UNC to do that. I had forgotten that Louisville built their new stadium with all chairbacks, but I didn't think a P5 school would really go through the expense to replace benches with chairbacks and subsequently decrease their capacity.

We could convert to all chairbacks but we'd need a South Endzone expansion to keep capacity where it is or increase it some. I wish we would do that.

Imagine if Tennessee converted to all chairbacks. With their narrow bench numbers, they'd go from 100,000 to 60,000.

I believe that Louisville uses their field for other functions, like soccer and concerts, and maybe even high school games. I don't think DWS does that, at least to any great extent. It might not be economically feasible for just 6 or 7 home games a year, regardless of how desirable ... unless people are willing to play the premium.

Louisville's stadium looks like an absolute monster just in appearance... I've always thought the capacity number seemed far off compared to how it actually appears, so it being all chairbacks makes pretty good sense to me

We've sat up there the past several years (didn't renew this year), the view is great, the downside is the walk up.
