So Bagley and Duval took ill advised 3s. I'd rather they be unafraid to take them than overly hesitant. I'm confident that one of the coaches will "suggest" that there are times and places to take 3s and times to get higher percentage shots. We're not going to get many top rated players if we don't let them express themselves. They just have to learn to pick their spots. The last 5 minutes of a tight game aren't one of those spots.

Jake good post! I think part of Tre's shooting woes may be he's always been able to score the ball off drives in his pre-Duke days. He will certainly see more sagging and intricate defensive strategies at this level, and simply doesnt have confidence in his outside shot.(As I say I dont believe he's really had to rely on it given his ability to drive.)
In another post I said I didnt place all the blame on Tre for that corner 3 pt J Saturday because we dont know what was communicated by K in the time-out. Obviously I know K didnt draw that play up, but something was lost in the communicaton. It was a very UN-DUKE LIKE possession for the closing stages of a pulsating conference game on the road. 4 of our 5 players touched the ball- except for perhaps our best option, Bagley.
We have time to grow and learn from those situations, and am confident we will w/the G.O.A.T at the helm!

And I'd add that K also has a tendency to let guys play through certain things....letting them learn a little on their own, if you know what I mean.
I think Marvin and Trevon both took some shots on Saturday they'd like to have back, but if they use them as learning tools I'm fine with that. We can't rewind and change history. What's done is done.
I still believe they have the green light and it should be more amber in their thinking. We have better options.
