Afraid of real competition. There is nothing Memphis has that UK can't top and exceed.
At least he went to a team that can't hurt us lol
Just makes no sense why these guys want to go to a shitt% city and play for a coach that has done literally nothing.

About the same as going to Miami, no real competition as far as the title. At least he didn't go to a good team or Dook but still sucks. I'm just glad we have 12 solid guys this year. I never thought Duren would come to a team with that much competition even though not a ton in the frontcourt.

Missing on the top guys has become a major problem with Cal.Hopefully it changes next season but I have doubts.
Been known for a bit that it was probably Memphis but still sucks. Not giving up on the team obviously because just last year we had two top 5 recruits that both struggled or were injured (Rip TC). Kid chose what he felt was best for him and it is what it is.
Is Penny paying moving expenses ?

Just can’t believe Cal didn’t take Kofi. Could have split time eventually with Oscar. Duren obviously was never coming here and NIL isn’t helping CAL yet. Maybe Fed Ex already has him locked up to a HUGE deal. Embarrassing Cal chasing after all these Top recruits and getting none of them.
Hindsight is always 20/20 but I’ve never liked the “eggs in one basket” approach. We are dangerously thin in the post. I love the perimeter depth we have but it’s gonna be a problem when Oscar gets in foul trouble, IMO. He’s literally the only competent option we have. Ware has a long way to go & Collins isn’t big enough to really bang inside. And, that’s not his game, anyway. Brooks & Toppin are 3/4 players. Maybe Cal meant it when he said he would play 1 in, 4 out. We can only hope he did.
Duren already has a big-money sponsor for heading to Memphis.
Could be worse. He could have gone to Duke, Carolina, UCLA, Kansas, Michigan State, Ohio State, Alabama, Arkansas, Tennessee, Florida, but instead went to Memphis. So be it.

When that happens who is going to play at the five. Well that would be Lance. Hopefully he can produce for 20 minutes a game or we are in big big trouble.
I think Cal thought Kofi wasn’t fast enough to play the type of offense he is wanting to play.

Cal was so dumb for not taking Kofi. It was dumb back then and looks even dumber now. Only Calipari would turn away a first team all American center when you have no real proven big time post players. Smdh.
Why top 3? Odd you chose top 3 when we have had #1 guys who sucked, (Skal) and guys ranked as 4 stars who killed it here.

Because we could have had Kofi but Cal goes all in on a player that isnt going to pick us and we all knew it but Cal. He found out today and sends out that “I like my team” same garbage as all the other years when he can’t close the deal.
For about 2 1/2 yrs this was a UK vs G-League battle. Then Michigan was creeping into things but once he decided he'd reclass to '21, they dropped out. Biggest thing is that was a recruiting L--they got the visit, they pushed hard, and lost. No excuses.
Miami hired his HS coach--but that also was to thank Team Final for sending a bunch of players to them (Lonnie Walker being biggest name but several others like Davon Reed, Jaquan Newton) as well.

Kofi would’ve been the difference between a Sweet 16/Elite8 and a Championship. I like you Cal but damn. This will be on everyone’s mind if we underachieve in the tourney.
Yeah, damn near unforgivable, turn down a collegiate AA, for a HS player, that was unlikely to commit!
