They keep saying it's illegal, but what's illegal about it. I only read one discussion of the law from lawfareblog I think, and they said they thought he could do it. Is this another liberal ploy to set everyone's mind before it actually is decided?

Well, everyone I’ve talked to is in favor of it. The first months allotment can go to San Francisco, second to Schumer’s district and so on. About time they look at the Kate Steinlees of the country and ante up the $$ to pay for them. Our laws were never intended to allow for this and they know it.
never mind...kind of like what he did with the Barr report of the Mueller report...trying to put out a false narrative before the report actually comes out. As for his sanctuary cities threat, he won't do anything....just trying to get some mileage out of the current situation.

How? Libs keep saying that illegal immigrants aren't a burden to society, that they contribute to our economy. Yet, they are crying to not dump them in the precious cities. The action does not meet the words.
No one has posted the Federal Statute that says Trump can't do that ? Interesting. Funding would be the only way to stop it and He could get around that. You are missing the point.....I thought the leaders in the sanctuary cities would welcome these wandering hordes with open arms and provide for their needs. The immigrants need places to go and Trump is just sending them to places where they would be welcomed. It's a great idea.
Did they turn down requests? This would be VERY expensive to taxpayers. I imagine room and board is a smidge higher in NYC, SF than it is the border lands.

The border cities don't want them........NYC,Seattle,LA,SF and others want them. Instead of criticizing Trump for this......the Dem leaders should be thanking him.
Again, are they rejecting them? New detention centers, court rooms, etc will need to be built/bought/leased. Very expensive to taxpayers and a huge hit to the federal employees that just saw their COL skyrocket. Buy yeah....I say we do it.

Huh? Of course they have courts and detention centers along the border now. If you moved where we hold asylum seekers and illegal crossers, you would need to provide them facilities in their new place.

The Dems plan is really pretty hard to beat. Spread these “voters” out and they make progress toward flipping states like Texas. If they succeed there, we may never be able to win enough electoral votes to elect another Republican President.
Send them all to Cali prior to the next census isn’t a great idea either. Giving Cali more population would give them more Representatives which also gives them more electoral votes.
I think we should send em to Puerto Rico. Think I’ll suggest this to DJT. At least they could be kept there till their trials.
