One program had a coach set them up good

That’s the difference honestly. Cal wanted to see uk fall apart for his egoOne program had a coach set them up good

Because it’s a Yankee school in the SouthDuke is based in Durham, NC but East Rutherford NJ is like a second home to them and has been for decades. I really don’t know the “why”. Maybe I knew at one point and forgot but it’s been talked about before during Kentucky games. I think it was mentioned in the 2002 season IIRC.
Edit: Correct it was the 2002 season I became aware of this. The game was a non-con game so it occurred in 2001, but was the 2002 season.

Nice podcast. Schyer won't be coaching up any team to a title outside of a down ACC. The fact that you feel the need to sell him speaks volumes.I'd say he's doing more than just rolling the ball out there. Outside of winning ACC regular season and tournament titles, making a final four and an elite 8, he has also beaten the following out of conference schools:
Arizona X 2
Kansas X 2
Auburn
Alabama
Michigan
Mich St
Houston
Texas
Arkansas
Florida
Iowa
Has 124 - 25 record for 83%.
Not bad for a 4 year coach.
Whether people like it or not, I think it's highly likely he has a title or two in his future.
Right. He was the Dallas Mavericks first choice and turned them down before they pivoted to National champion coach Dusty Maye because he just rolls the ball out there.Nice podcast. Everyone knows he just rolls the ball out there.
If that wasn't just a rumor, the Mavericks really dodged a bullet. Maye is a much better coach.Right. He was the Dallas Mavericks first choice and turned them down before they pivoted to National champion coach Dusty Maye because he just rolls the ball out there.
He's either going to get lucky or figure it out at some point.I'd say he's doing more than just rolling the ball out there. Outside of winning ACC regular season and tournament titles, making a final four and an elite 8, he has also beaten the following out of conference schools:

Scoreboard.Must be tough to be a UK fan and spend so much time and effort criticizing Duke and Jon Scheyer. You’re a collection of ill advised losers. Check the scoreboard the numerous times we’ve beat your sorry *** in the past. We’ll play you anywhere at anytime and come out on top.
Dumb post ^^
Would depend on the school. Anywhere other than Duke scheyer isn’t pulling this amount of talent. Not sure scheyer could take a lesser talented team and do any better than pope has.Jon Scheyer and Mark Pope are both available to be hired tomorrow to coach a D1 basketball team.
How many schools are choosing Pope over Scheyer?
Lol, get f'n real lardass.
Pope took a 6-month roster and beat Scheyer with his NIL, Duke brand, and all the NBA picks on a national stage.Would depend on the school. Anywhere other than Duke scheyer isn’t pulling this amount of talent. Not sure scheyer could take a lesser talented team and do any better than pope has.
Exactly my point. Nobody knows what scheyer would be without all the advantages he started with. Pope is having to build something where scheyer just took over an already built machine. I personally don’t think scheyer is a great coach. He’s shown when games get tight and in the biggest ones he reverts to spread it out and hope his star makes a play. It cost him a title flaggs year for sure.Pope took a 6-month roster and beat Scheyer with his NIL, Duke brand, and all the NBA picks on a national stage.
Pope literally called out what Scheyer was going to do at the end of the game with Flagg. He outcoached him that game.Exactly my point. This all started b/c of my first post, which clearly rustled a bunch of jimmies. It had nothing to do with that game, yet here you all are still trying to sell your coach to UK fans. You guys are starting to sound like Hoosier fans obsessing over the Watford shot game.
It was one game in f'n November and their 17-year-old superstar tightened up late.
I'll take the guy that has gone 35-4 and 35-3 his last two years coaching over whatever the **** you losers think Pope can magically turn out to be in year 12 as a head coach. It's clear as day who has been more successful unless you're brain dead.
I concede. I honestly can't disagree with anything you're saying. Look, I gotta be real: I'm just a fat loser. I don't have much going on in my life, so let me pretend that Pope is great. I like watching rasslin. I like when they put the one guy in a sleeper hold and the ref raises his arm up once and it goes down, then a second time and it goes down again, and then on the third time it looks like it's going down but then the guy holds his arm back up and he goes f'n psycho beating the other dude's ***. That pleases me. And I like Kentucky basketball. I grew up with it. Here's the part where I say something something my granddaddy. What was I saying? Oh yeah, I hate myself.
Duke fan posting repeatedly on a UK board. Both sad and understandable.Jon Scheyer and Mark Pope are both available to be hired tomorrow to coach a D1 basketball team.

Their??? LOL!! Own your team, Creepers. It was one game in f'n November and their 17-year-old superstar tightened up late.
CONGRATULATIONS. However, if you do the head to head post 1978, It is 9-3 Duke.
Why would anyone draw an arbitrary line after 1978? Perhaps it is to ease the pain of that all-time head to head? lol. Your guy couldn’t even beat Mark Pope with God’s gift to basketball on the team. GTFOH LOL!CONGRATULATIONS. However, if you do the head to head post 1978, It is 9-3 Duke.
Kentucky was elite pre-integration though, can't take that away from them.
