if this game doesn't earn Alex more playing time, I don't know what else he has to do. Our inside game is dominating and with him hitting those 3's, we would be SO HARD to defend
People griping about Grayson and he’s on his way to a triple double today.....
Defense seems better, also it helps when the opponent doesn't shoot 78%
13 point halftime lead. I'll take it. Now let's get Jack White (and Justin) in there to make some 3s and my day will be complete. Oh and a win.

Mich St struggling with Mich. They have sort of hit the wall in Jan too. I still believe that Duke and Mich St will see each other again somewhere around April.
Without K and our 2 best subs this would be a good win. Although Alex could be emerging as our 6th man. His points are the difference in the game! We really need bench scoring. (not today but normally). I know we score a lot but you know what I mean.
It wouldn't hurt my feelings a bit to experiment with Trent and Alex splitting their minutes down the middle. Not sure what that would do to our D, but who is really a better shooter than Alex on this team? On the season, he is shooting 64% from the field and 54% from 3
Gotta love this time of year!!! ACC in full swing and NFL playoffs this weekend. Doesn't get much better unless it is warm enough to hit the links, but its not here in the hills of North Carolina
Yeah that's not griping, it's an observation. He doesn't seem to want to shoot the ball. I also posted about his terrific assists, I think you're looking for something where there's nothing.
I sure would love to see Grayson knock down a couple there's to get his confidence back. We need a confident Grayson!!!!

Grayson is in a bit of a slump...but he'll eventually get out of it.

It's cool I do too, he's doing everything except shooting and as long as it means a win I don't care. That being said we are a much more dangerous team when he's hitting shots.
As much as I bitched about the zone earlier and in other games they're actually executing well. Jack White just had a bad sequence and let Children's blow by him then basically got in Duval's way at the other end. Oh well he'll learn and he's a hustling mofo.

That really is the thing about the bench. You don't need most of those to get 10 minutes. Even a couple of minutes each half, active on D, make a good pass, tip a pass, block a shot, tap a rebound out, etc. They will obviously have 2-3 heavier contributors off the bench (DeLaurier, O'Connell, Bolden), but if K just gives a 2-3 a few minutes of burn in most games from among White, Robinson, Goldwire, Vrank (and maybe get a game every so often from one of those where they are active and give you 6-10 good minutes), I think that can lower the starters minutes. And, give the younger kids a taste of the game.
And, the reality is you give those guys a better chance, and an increased motivation, to improve their game over the course of 3-4 years.
